Health Promotions under ๐Œ๐ฎ๐Ÿ๐ฎ๐ฅ๐ข๐ซ๐š ๐ƒ๐ข๐ฌ๐ญ๐ซ๐ข๐œ๐ญ ๐‡๐ž๐š๐ฅ๐ญ๐ก ๐Ž๐Ÿ๐Ÿ๐ข๐œ๐ž conducted two important engagements today at ๐— ๐—ผ๐—ธ๐—ฎ๐—บ๐—ฏ๐—ผ ๐—•๐—ผ๐—ฎ๐—ฟ๐—ฑ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ, one of the districtโ€™s key ๐๐จ๐ข๐ง๐ญ ๐จ๐Ÿ ๐„๐ง๐ญ๐ซ๐ฒ (๐๐จ๐„), aimed at strengthening preparedness and response against potential public health threats.

๐Ÿ“Œ Meeting 1: A sensitization meeting was held with Mokambo Border Agents focusing on Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) awareness, prevention measures, early detection, and the importance of coordinated response efforts at the border.

๐Ÿ“Œ Meeting 2: The district received a monitoring and assessment team comprising representatives from World Health Organization (WHO), Zambia National Public Health Institute, and Copperbelt Provincial Health Office Discussions centered on evaluating key measures being implemented to raise Ebola awareness, assessing the availability of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in the isolation room, and highlighting the critical role played by Immigration and Zambia Revenue Authority staff in epidemic preparedness, information dissemination, and case tracking at the Point of Entry.

These engagements reaffirm our commitment to strengthening surveillance systems and ensuring our borders remain vigilant in safeguarding public health.

Mufulira District Health Office, in collaboration with Kawama East Mini Hospital, today held a ๐‚๐จ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ฎ๐ง๐ข๐ญ๐ฒ ๐„๐ง๐ ๐š๐ ๐ž๐ฆ๐ž๐ง๐ญ ๐Œ๐ž๐ž๐ญ๐ข๐ง๐  aimed at addressing the challenges and dangers associated with ๐‡๐จ๐ฆ๐ž ๐ƒ๐ž๐ฅ๐ข๐ฏ๐ž๐ซ๐ข๐ž๐ฌ.

The meeting provided a platform for community members to share possible reasons why some expectant mothers choose to deliver from home instead of seeking skilled care at health facilities. Today, Mufulira District Health Office convened a stakeholders' meeting at the Mufulira Municipal Council Chambers to deliberate on critical public health matters affecting the district.

The meeting focused on strategies for ๐Œ๐š๐ฅ๐š๐ซ๐ข๐š ๐„๐ฅ๐ข๐ฆ๐ข๐ง๐š๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง, preparedness and response measures regarding the ๐„๐›๐จ๐ฅ๐š ๐Ž๐ฎ๐ญ๐›๐ซ๐ž๐š๐ค, and planning for the upcoming ๐‚๐ก๐ข๐ฅ๐ ๐‡๐ž๐š๐ฅ๐ญ๐ก ๐–๐ž๐ž๐ค scheduled for the month of June.

Stakeholders from various sectors reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening collaboration, enhancing community awareness, and supporting interventions aimed at safeguarding the health and well-being of our communities.

As part of the commemoration, a sensitisation campaign was conducted in ๐‘ฒ๐’‚๐’๐’Œ๐’๐’š๐’ - ๐‘ด๐’–๐’‡๐’–๐’๐’Š๐’“๐’‚, aimed at raising awareness on the harmful effects of ni****ne and to***co use on individual and community health.

Community members were educated on the dangers associated with to***co consumption, including its link to cancer, heart disease, stroke, respiratory illnesses, and addiction. The campaign also emphasized the importance of preventing young people from initiating to***co use and encouraged current users to seek support in quitting.

Together, we can build a healthier and to***co-free future by making informed choices and protecting ourselves, our families, and our communities from the dangers of ni****ne and to***co.
