Health Promotions under ๐๐ฎ๐๐ฎ๐ฅ๐ข๐ซ๐ ๐๐ข๐ฌ๐ญ๐ซ๐ข๐๐ญ ๐๐๐๐ฅ๐ญ๐ก ๐๐๐๐ข๐๐ conducted two important engagements today at ๐ ๐ผ๐ธ๐ฎ๐บ๐ฏ๐ผ ๐๐ผ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ฑ๐ฒ๐ฟ, one of the districtโs key ๐๐จ๐ข๐ง๐ญ ๐จ๐ ๐๐ง๐ญ๐ซ๐ฒ (๐๐จ๐), aimed at strengthening preparedness and response against potential public health threats.
๐ Meeting 1: A sensitization meeting was held with Mokambo Border Agents focusing on Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) awareness, prevention measures, early detection, and the importance of coordinated response efforts at the border.
๐ Meeting 2: The district received a monitoring and assessment team comprising representatives from World Health Organization (WHO), Zambia National Public Health Institute, and Copperbelt Provincial Health Office Discussions centered on evaluating key measures being implemented to raise Ebola awareness, assessing the availability of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in the isolation room, and highlighting the critical role played by Immigration and Zambia Revenue Authority staff in epidemic preparedness, information dissemination, and case tracking at the Point of Entry.
These engagements reaffirm our commitment to strengthening surveillance systems and ensuring our borders remain vigilant in safeguarding public health.
