Ladies and gentlemen allow me to reintroduce myself Doreen Chishimba BSc in Physiotherapy.

I was awarded as the best persevering student.
For me this was not just a regular award. When I was given this award and I posed to ask why? Then I realized my grades were good but why?
Then my friends told me you deserve that award, and no one but you, this made me sit and reflect on my journey. Then I realized I deserved it
This was for
All the times I sat in lectures to listen without seeing. .
All the times I didn't perform to my very best because the environment was not accommodating enough..
All the time a few individuals made me feel I wouldn't make it..
All the times I would have failed but didn't.
All the times I felt like stopping but didn't.

When some of us start a journey we are not allowed to get tired or give up because we carry an entire race to prove to, that they can be what they want.

To all families with children living with albinism this is proof enough that your children are not limited, my success started from home. They never allowed the world to define me they silenced all the negative voices.

To my albinism community this is our win.
