Yesterday, the Zimbabwe National Family Planning Council (ZNFPC) Mashonaland East Province participated in first year student orientation sessions at Women’s University in Africa (WUA) Marondera Campus and Marondera University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology (MUAST), where students were equipped with vital information to support a smooth transition into university life. The engagements emphasised the importance of mental wellbeing, building positive relationships, resilience, accessing Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) information and utilising available youth friendly services. Through these initiatives, ZNFPC continues to empower young people with knowledge, skills and support systems that promote healthy lifestyles and improved overall student wellbeing.

Zimbabwe National Family Planning Council Mashonaland East Province, in collaboration with Youth Advocates, conducted a 5 day Peer educators training programme that sought to equip participants with essential life skills and knowledge on healthy relationships, mental health awareness, youth and contraception, drug and substance abuse prevention, STIs and HIV & AIDS prevention, among other key topics. Through interactive learning and discussions, participants strengthened their capacity to become agents of positive change and promote healthy choices within their communities.

Worker education sessions play a vital role in equipping staff with the necessary knowledge and skills required to deliver quality, ethical and client centred services. Yesterday, Zimbabwe National Family Planning Council Mashonaland East Province held a training which focussed on the Code of Conduct, with particular emphasis on workplace offences. The session also covered customer care and cancer awareness. This training enhanced staff understanding of professionalism and accountability, thereby improving service delivery. fans

The Zimbabwe National Family Planning Council (ZNFPC) Mashonaland East Province recently concluded a five-day Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health (ASRH) training workshop aimed at capacitating teachers, nurses and peer educators. Held at Wedza High School, the workshop brought together participants from Wards 1, 2, 3, 4 and 14, equipping them with the appropriate knowledge and skills needed to deliver youth friendly sexual and reproductive health information and services in schools, communities and health facilities.
