SSMC has achieved dual accreditation from the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) for our Pharmacy Department (IHPS, international accreditation of hospital and health-system pharmacy services) and PGY1 Clinical Pharmacy Residency Program. The IHPS accreditation reflets the high quality of the services and care provided by SSMC hospital pharmacy, it demonstrates commitment to excellent and quality improvement. SSMC is only the third hospital in the UAE to have received the ASHP IHPS accreditation, further highlighting its leadership in advancing pharmacy practice and healthcare quality in the region.

Our residency program was awarded the full eight-year accreditation period, the maximum granted by ASHP, recognizing the strength of our pharmacy education and training.

This recognition reflects the dedication of our pharmacy teams, faculty, residents and colleagues across SSMC who have contributed to advancing pharmacy practice, education and patient care.
