Friends 4 All Seasons - a UAE Relief Human Connection Initiative

Are you looking for a friendly, safe and welcoming environment where you can connect with other likeminded people, talk, listen, share, plan and do interesting activities together? Well, look no more!

The past 2.5 years have isolated us from each other, caused many to go through mental and emotional struggles, relocate, live alone, feel lonely and find creating connections with others quite a challenge, to say the least.
At UAE Relief, we have been and still are assisting and supporting our community with all the help we can provide, but we came to realize that many would find relief in a genuine human connection.

With World Mental Health Day celebrated this week, we would like to launch the first “Friends for All Seasons” meetup this Thursday October 13, 2022.
If you would like to attend the meetup, please send a PM to Aisha Ahmad Khalil or Coach Leila Atbi.

Location: Bint Al Harah Café, Abu Dhabi
Time: 6:30-8:00pm

In the program:

-Welcome talk
-Introductions and Connections
-Small Groups Discussions

It’s OFFICIAL - With a heavy heart, we now announce that we have ceased all support services. We will continue to try responding to msgs with advice and signpost but please remember that we are limited as we are now outside of the UAE.

Darkness Into Light has had an incredible journey in the UAE. It’s energy and evolution was entirely unique to the UAE and this was a credit to the infectiously compassionate UAE community. It gave the community a platform to support, and more importantly, be supported. Overseeing how well our community supported people during their lowest times was simply inspiring and kept us motivated everyday to do what we could to sustain its growth.

As some of our followers may know, we did everything that we could to acquire the necessary funding and the ability to fundraise to ensure we could meet the growing demand for our services. Having worked through all of the necessary processes for over 1 year with Ma’an, the Department of Community Development and the Ministry of Community Development, we were led to believe the support was coming but unfortunately nothing materialized. We truly hope that the absence of Darkness Into Light will now trigger something bigger, as we are all too aware of the desperation for and necessity of such a life-saving community mental health service.

The words ‘Thank You’ really don’t feel sufficient in conveying our gratitude to all who supported this magical movement. To our 500+ volunteers, our 30+ community partner organizations, our fabulous 30+ Emirati Founding members, Ambassadors & supporters… you have all been simply amazing. Thank you for being you… Thank You Thank You Thank You 😘

Due to a change in Pieta House requirements for international partner charities, the UAE cannot meet their requirements and Pieta House have made the decision to omit UAE venues from the walk this year. The Darkness Into Light walk is going virtual around the world this Saturday but we are unable to promote it for legal reasons. Wishing you all a peaceful weekend ahead 🙏🏻
