Emirates Airlines resume Bangladesh-UAE flights

Emirates and Etihad Airlines have announced resumption of the flights from Bangladesh’s Dhaka to UAE’s Abu Dhabi and Dubai as the final destination. Emirates has now removed Bangladesh from its list of countries that lack rapid PCR testing facilities at the airports.

It is required for passengers to produce a test result conducted at the airport within six hours of departure.

Booster shot protocol for COVID-19 vaccine is approved for emergency use

The Ministry of Health and Prevention has approved the emergency use of the booster shots of Pfizer-BioNTech and Sputnik vaccines.

The groups that should take the booster dose are senior citizens; residents above 60 years; people with chronic diseases; individuals at risk of complications from 50 to 59 years old, and people receiving long-term health care aged 18 years and above.

UK will accept UAE-issued vaccination certificate starting October 4

The United Kingdom has announced the approval of vaccination certificates issued by UAE health authorities for travel to the country with effect from October 4. According to an announcement made by Britain’s Secretary of State for Transport Grant Shapps, travellers will be allowed to enter the UK by presenting a fully-vaccination certificate issued by the Emirati authorities.

With the recent announcement, it will become significantly easier for UAE nationals and British expatriates to travel to England without undergoing quarantine.

Children under the age of 18 are exempted from self-isolation protocol upon arrival in the UK, regardless of their vaccination status.

Sharjah updates COVID-19 safety rules for social events

Sharjah’s Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management team has updated the precautionary measures in social events and gatherings.

As per the updated protocols, the number of attendees has been limited to 50 people at home gatherings and 100 people in public halls. Wedding tents have been allowed to set up with a maximum capacity of 200 people.

It is mandatory for all participants of social gatherings to be fully vaccinated and the green pass system must be activated on the Al Hosn app.

Home quarantine in the Abu Dhabi will be without use of wristbands

The Abu Dhabi Emergency, Crisis and Disasters Committee for the Covid-19 Pandemic has approved home quarantine without the use of wristbands for international travellers and those in contact with positive cases, effective Sunday 19 September 2021. Positive cases must still wear a wristband.
