Families often tell us their parent is "fine, just a bit slower lately". Holding on to the furniture, taking the stairs more carefully, or needing a couple of tries to get out of a chair are all changes worth paying attention to.

Strength and balance can shift without anyone really noticing, and both can be worked on with a physiotherapist.

Our physiotherapists visit at home and work with your parent on their own stairs, in their own chair and around the rooms they use every day, rather than at a clinic.

The first appointment lasts about half an hour. We talk through their history, check how they're moving, and agree the plan with them, with you there too.

Noticed a change in your parent's mobility? It may be worth getting it checked.

Laptop on the sofa, neck complaining by mid-afternoon?

If you've been doing your job from the couch for a while, you probably know how it goes. A stiff neck after lunch, tight shoulders by the evening, and after a few weeks you barely notice it any more.

Stretching can take the edge off, but it doesn't tell you what's causing it. A physiotherapist looks at your posture and desk setup, treats the problem hands-on, and gives you exercises that fit into your day. All without leaving the house.

Bringing a parent home from hospital is the part nobody prepares you for.

The ward gives you a discharge date. What it does not give you is the answer to the question you are actually asking: will someone competent be there on the first morning, and will they know what they are walking into?

Here is what we put in place before day one — seven things, every time.

→ A care needs assessment, before the admission is approved
→ The right nurse or carer, matched to those needs
→ Initial assessment completed in the home, with you there
→ A care plan built against the hospital discharge summary
→ Medication reconciled against the discharge prescription
→ Help arranging the equipment and consumables your parent needs
→ We confirm everything with you, so you know who is arriving and when

Care can begin within 24 hours. Those 24 hours start once the assessment is complete, the agreement is signed and payment is received — not from the hospital referral. We would rather you heard the real number.

Speak to our clinical team and we will tell you what your parent's discharge actually needs.

What actually happens when a physiotherapist comes to the house for the first time?

Mostly, we listen.
→ We start with your main concerns, your medical history, your current symptoms, and the things that have become difficult day to day.
→ Then we assess what is relevant to the condition: pain, mobility, muscle strength, balance, posture, movement and functional independence.
→ We talk through your routine, the difficulties at home, and your own goals and expectations.
→ You leave the session understanding our findings, the approach we recommend, and what happens next.

Home physiotherapy requires a doctor’s referral. If you already have one, message us and we can arrange your first visit. If you don’t, just get in touch and we can guide you through what’s needed.
