🇬🇧 They wiggle.
Make a little noise.
Turn their head.
Bring their hands to their mouth.
Shift position.
Fuss for a moment.
And our first instinct is:
RESCUE MISSION. 🚨😂
But some of these behaviors can actually be part of how your baby settles and finds their way back to sleep.
Before automatically stepping in, pause and observe for a few seconds.
Are they truly awake and asking for help?
Or are they trying to settle back to sleep?
Self-regulation develops gradually, and we can support it in a responsive way.
Giving your baby a brief opportunity to try to settle doesn’t mean leaving them to figure it out alone or never stepping in. It simply means giving them space, little by little, to need less help as their skills develop.
Always consider your baby’s age and developmental abilities when deciding when and how to respond.
It’s a process, and your baby will guide you along the way. 🤍

🇪🇸 Se mueve.
Hace algún ruidito.
Gira la cabeza.
Se lleva las manos a la boca.
Busca otra postura.
Protesta un poco.
Y nuestro primer impulso es:
RESCUE MISSION. 🚨😂

🇬🇧 One of the most common questions I hear from twin families is:
“If one baby makes a noise, won’t they wake the other one?”
Sometimes, yes. But surprisingly, often they won’t.
Babies can make noises, move, or briefly protest in their sleep without fully waking. So before jumping in:
👀 Observe
⏱️ Wait a few seconds
👂 See what’s actually happening
The other baby may not have even noticed.
Over time, many twins also get used to each other’s sounds. You don’t need absolute silence to protect their sleep.
And if one really does wake the other? It doesn’t mean sharing a room isn’t working. Stay calm, respond to each baby according to what they need, and move on.
Raising twins already comes with enough challenges. We don’t need to add the constant fear that every little sound will wake the other.
Because yes, they’re twins. But they’re still two individual babies, with different needs and different ways of sleeping. 🤍

🇬🇧 There’s a scene I hear all the time:
“Mechi, they were sleeping so well and suddenly I can’t even walk toward the door.”
It doesn’t necessarily mean their sleep has “broken.”
Separation anxiety is a normal developmental stage and it can show up strongly around bedtime: more protesting, more need for closeness and more difficulty saying goodbye.
During these phases, your child may need more reassurance, but that doesn’t mean abandoning every habit, boundary or tool you had already built.
What can help?
🤍 More connection during the day
🤍 Clear, predictable goodbyes
🤍 A consistent bedtime routine
🤍 Calm responses without changing strategies every night
And one key thing: if leaving the room feels like a mission impossible right now, then don’t leave. Stay with your child and offer physical reassurance. Each night, gradually reduce the amount of physical contact while continuing to stay close and support them.
More presence. More predictability. More patience.
A difficult stage doesn’t mean starting over. 🤍

That sudden movement when your baby throws their arms out.... “WHAT IS HAPPENING?!” 😅

It’s called the Moro reflex.
And You don’t need to “teach” your baby to stop doing it.

If it doesn’t wake them up: leave it alone

If it does wake them: wait for a few seconds to see if your baby is able to gi back to sleep by himself.
If your baby needs your help, he will let you know and you can always gently support them.

Swadling can help reduce this moro reflex, especially in babies under 4 months old who are not yet rolling.
Once your baby is starting to roll, or is showing signs of attempting to roll, please transition them to an arms-free sleep sack.

🇬🇧 Just because your toddler is fully toilet trained during the day doesn’t mean they’re automatically ready to sleep through the night without a diaper.
Nighttime dryness is a developmental process and depends largely on physiological maturation. It can happen much later than daytime potty training.
A good sign that your child may be ready is consistently waking up with a dry diaper for several nights in a row.
If you’re thinking about making the transition:
🚽 Encourage a toilet trip before bed.
💧 Avoid large amounts of fluids right before bedtime, without restricting water if they’re thirsty.
🌙 Keep their usual bedtime routine.
🤍 Try not to make accidents a big deal.
😴 Most importantly, don’t sacrifice sleep trying to rush the process.
If accidents are still happening frequently, their body may simply not be ready yet.
Every child gets there at their own pace. One thing at a time. 🤍

One thing at a time. 🤍

🇬🇧 That toddler who’s running around the house at 8 PM like they’ve just had three coffees… might actually be tired. 😅
Tiredness doesn’t always look like yawning or sleepy eyes. Sometimes it shows up as:
⚡ A sudden rush of energy, especially in the evening
😭 More irritability
💥 Bigger, more intense tantrums
🌙 Bedtime taking forever or feeling like a battle
🚗 Falling asleep quickly in the car or during short periods of downtime
🌅 Very early morning wake-ups
🧠 Difficulty concentrating or staying engaged during the day
😴 Suddenly falling asleep when they normally wouldn’t
That’s why it’s important to look beyond the obvious signs of sleepiness.
Sometimes, tiredness doesn’t look sleepy at all.
It can look like MORE energy.

🇬🇧 Hiring a Sleep Coach doesn’t mean you’ve “done something wrong” or that your baby should be sleeping a certain way.

My job isn’t to give you a standard routine or tell you to leave your baby to cry. It’s to understand what’s happening and help you build a more sustainable way for everyone to rest better.
Sleep can be supported too. ✨

🇬🇧 Sleep Pressure & Sensitivity 😴

Sleep pressure is the natural drive to sleep that builds the longer a child is awake.
But every child is different in how sensitive they are to sleep pressure.
🔹 High sensitivity: Sleep pressure builds quickly → staying awake too long may lead to overtiredness and difficulty settling.
🔹 Low sensitivity: Sleep pressure builds more slowly → going to bed too early may mean they’re not tired enough to fall asleep.
That’s why wake windows are a guide, not a rule. The key is observing your child’s individual sleep cues and how they respond to different timings.

Sensitive to sleep pressure?
A short late-afternoon catnap may help take the edge off, prevent overtiredness, and support a smoother bedtime.

More tired doesn’t mean better sleep. 😴
In fact, when babies become overtired, they have a harder time falling asleep at bedtime and continue sleeping during the night. They tend to wake up many times at night and to wake up very early in the morning

Timing matters! And the messages, the signs, the signals that your baby is sending to you also matters. You need to look at the clock and also to look at your baby to understand when she is ready to go to sleep
Do you Want to understand your baby’s sleep windows?

Send me a message and I’ll help you figure them out. 💛

🇬🇧 When we talk about “sleeping well,” we often think first about how many hours our baby sleeps without waking.
But good sleep isn’t defined only by sleeping through the night. We need to look at the whole picture.
How is your child during the day?
Some signs of restorative sleep can be:
✓ They usually wake up in a good mood
✓ They cope well with their awake time
✓ They’re able to take restorative naps
✓ They don’t regularly reach the end of the day completely exhausted
Night wakings, especially during the first months, can be a normal part of development.
So instead of looking only at the clock, look at your whole baby: their mood, energy, naps and how they arrive at bedtime.
Good sleep shows up during the day, too. 🤍

✓ Logra hacer siestas reparadoras
