Nourish has been established to provide holistic support to women and families living with Breast Cancer, highlighting the importance of 'optimum nutrition for optimum health'. The Chairman and co-founder of Nourish, is executive Chef Robbie Stokes, previously Burj Al Arab’s chef de cuisine knows only too well how important raising awareness of this terrible disease is. Robbie’s wife Claire was di
agnosed with breast cancer in 2011, just three weeks after their son Ethan was born. However, in June 2012, the family were told that the cancer had returned and Claire has been undergoing treatment ever since.
“I wanted to do something that linked my passion for cooking with raising not only funding for my wife’s ongoing cancer treatment, but that helped to raise awareness of this disease for all women.” said Robbie. Supported by a small group of like-minded and very determined friends from the catering, cooking, healthcare, aviation and hotel industries, Nourish was born in September 2014. The very first Nourish event, The Chef's United Ball took place at the end of October 2014 and was a tremendous success - far more so than we ever dared to dream. Tragically, Claire passed away on January 18th, 2015 but her legacy will live on through Nourish and The Chefs United forever more. In 2016, Nourish and the Pink Brigade joined hands and continue to raise awareness for the early detection of breast cancer through the sale of personalised Chef Jackets, pink aprons and headscarfs! All proceeds go to the Pink Caravan, a registered pan UAE charity.
