Precision begins before the first surgical step. 🔍

In lacrimal surgery, clear visualization of delicate anatomy is essential. Surgical loupes and focused illumination provide magnification and light exactly where they are needed—supporting controlled, precise work throughout the procedure.

Today’s operating list included an external DCR, a procedure performed to create a new drainage pathway for tears when the normal nasolacrimal pathway is obstructed.

A persistent swelling deserves careful evaluation, accurate diagnosis, and the right treatment.

In this case, a progressively enlarging superior orbital mass was successfully removed through a carefully planned anterior orbitotomy. Histopathological examination confirmed a benign vascular malformation, with an excellent functional and cosmetic outcome.

Back to the clinic—with renewed focus and gratitude. 👁️

A short period of rest is valuable, but returning to patient care brings its own sense of purpose.

Clinical surgical image shared for medical education and awareness.

👁️ A small eyelid lump can carry a bigger diagnosis.

This case started as a small lesion on the lower eyelid margin. After excision and histopathology, it was confirmed to be basal cell carcinoma, with involved surgical margins.

The next step was careful re-excision with intraoperative frozen section guidance to check the margins during surgery, followed by precise eyelid reconstruction to preserve eyelid function, protect the eye, and maintain natural alignment.

The important message:
Not every eyelid lump is harmless.

A persistent lump, ulcer, bleeding spot, lash loss, or non-healing eyelid lesion should be assessed early by a consultant.

Early diagnosis can make treatment safer, smaller, and more tissue-preserving.

صورة جراحية سريرية لأغراض التوعية والتعليم الطبي.

👁️ كتلة صغيرة في الجفن قد تحمل تشخيصاً أكبر.

بدأت هذه الحالة ككتلة صغيرة على حافة الجفن السفلي. وبعد الاستئصال وإرسال العينة للفحص النسيجي، تبيّن أنها سرطان الخلايا القاعدية بالجفن، مع وجود خلايا عند بعض الهوامش الجراحية.

كانت الخطوة التالية هي إجراء استئصال إضافي دقيق باستخدام فحص التجميد أثناء العملية للتأكد من سلامة الهوامش، ثم ترميم الجفن بعناية للحفاظ على وظيفة الجفن، حماية العين، والمحافظة على الشكل الطبيعي قدر الإمكان.

الرسالة المهمة:
ليست كل كتل الجفن بسيطة.

أي كتلة مستمرة، تقرح، نزف، فقدان للرموش، أو تغير لا يلتئم في الجفن يحتاج إلى تقييم مبكر عند استشاري.

التشخيص المبكر قد يجعل العلاج أكثر أماناً وأقل تعقيداً ويحافظ على أنسجة الجفن بشكل أفضل.

Histopathology changed the treatment plan, followed by margin-controlled re-excision and precise eyelid reconstruction to preserve function, protect the eye, and restore natural eyelid alignment.

Persistent eyelid lumps, ulceration, bleeding, or lash loss should not be ignored.
