I’m very proud to have received the SECEC Certificate, a prestigious European recognition of expertise in Shoulder and Elbow Surgery, after successfully passing the SECEC examination in Barcelona.
After more than three decades dedicated to Upper Limb Surgery, this European certification in Shoulder and Elbow Surgery complements my longstanding expertise in Hand and Wrist Surgery and reinforces the concept that has guided my practice for many years:
FROM HAND TO SHOULDER
The upper limb should not be considered as a collection of isolated joints. The hand, wrist, elbow and shoulder are part of one functional chain.
My vision has always been to offer my patients comprehensive upper-limb care — from the fingertips to the shoulder — within a single continuum of expertise, whether they are facing trauma, sports injuries, degenerative conditions, nerve problems, or complex reconstructive surgery.
For me, this is what Hand-to-Shoulder care means: not treating only a joint or an X-ray, but understanding the entire upper limb and accompanying the patient throughout their journey, from diagnosis and treatment to rehabilitation and return to function.
And no matter how many years we have been operating, how many patients we have treated, or how much experience we have accumulated, medicine continues to evolve — and so must we.
Expertise is never definitive. It must constantly be challenged, updated, transmitted and shared.
Never stop learning.
Never stop teaching.
