Companionship is an art. There will be days when you won’t know where it’s going or what shape it will take. There may be evenings when you both sit together, each trying to make sense of the image forming from the abstract of your own minds and values.
There is no key to a perfect relationship, maybe it’s simply about gently holding space for your partner’s abstract, and trying to understand it through their lens. Maybe that is all it really needs.
