If your waistline is changing in midlife, doing more and eating less isn’t necessarily the answer.
1. I wouldn’t slash calories.
An aggressive deficit makes it harder to eat well, get enough protein and protect the muscle we increasingly need to preserve.
1. I wouldn’t pile on endless cardio.
Walk. Do cardio if you enjoy it. But make room for resistance training and progressively challenge your muscles.
1. I wouldn’t start cutting out entire food groups.
No carbs. No dairy. No dinner. More restriction isn’t automatically a better fat-loss strategy.
