Food stylist-style fake rose milkshake 🌹🥤
Sometimes, what looks like a chilled, creamy milkshake on camera needs a little extra styling support behind the scenes. For this video, I created an edible “fake milkshake” using whipped cream stabilized with plenty of icing sugar/confectioners sugar.
I divided the whipped cream into two parts. One half became the rose-pink base — ideally, a little red food colour would work beautifully, but since I was out of it, I used rose syrup instead. It gave the cream a soft blush tone and a lovely rose-inspired feel. I filled the chosen glass with this as the milkshake base.
For the topping, I used the plain white whipped cream and piped it into a stable spiral, creating that classic milkshake look without worrying about melting, sinking, or losing shape during the shoot.
A final sprinkle of dried rose blooms added texture, colour, and a delicate floral finish.
Food styling is all about creating something that looks fresh, tempting, and camera-ready — while still understanding how ingredients behave under lights and time pressure.
