What does a blood clot actually feel like?
A deep vein thrombosis (DVT) can sometimes cause pain, swelling, warmth, tenderness, or a heavy feeling in one leg — but symptoms are not always obvious.
Because these signs can also be caused by other conditions, the only way to know for sure is with a proper medical assessment and, when needed, an ultrasound scan.
If you develop sudden one-sided leg swelling or pain, especially after a long journey, surgery, or a period of reduced movement, get it checked promptly.
