Hi All!

As there are many new people here on my account, I thought it would be good to introduce myself a bit more, welcome you and explain why I started this account.

I’m Sonali, living in Dubai. I am Masters in Business and pursuing Doctorate in Neuroscience with a degree in psychology, specializing in social & clinical psychology.

I am overwhelmed to work with Great places to work organizations - Accenture, Sapient, British Council, Zee Network, Videocon for over a decade Into behaviours and people capability development across the globe.

However, living in an obese body through majority of my childhood and adolescence, Fitness is all that I ever wanted so I switched my career into wellbeing, health & nutrition. Coaching and business are just the outcome.

For me, studying psychology always felt like an eye-opener. Things made more sense. Me, my surroundings, the world. There were so many insights that helped and interested me.

While psychology is not always an exact science, all the psychologists, therapists, historians, sociologists and philosophers have created and thought about many interesting theories shaping perspectives that greatly influenced the world. Sometimes good, sometimes bad.

My goal has always been to help, train behavior patterns, habit creation, the outcome being fitness and a healthy lifestyle. I try my best to stay true to research that has been done, but will also share my opinion from time to time.

Last important thing to mention: Instagram is not therapy. Sharing insights does not mean you should diagnose yourself or see it as a substitute. I do not have the capacity to answer all DMs. If you struggle, please seek help from a professional near you.

I am starting a series of posts on mental health. Every person has a certain percentage of these disorders and we aren't even aware of it. It takes a lifetime even to recognize and we stay in an ill brain.

People with dissociative disorders escape reality in ways that are involuntary and unhealthy and cause problems with functioning in everyday life.

Dissociative disorders usually develop as a reaction to trauma and help keep difficult memories at bay. Symptoms — ranging from amnesia to alternate identities — depend in part on the type of dissociative disorder you have. Times of stress can temporarily worsen symptoms, making them more obvious.

Treatment for dissociative disorders may include talk therapy (psychotherapy) and medication. Although treating dissociative disorders can be difficult, many people learn new ways of coping and lead healthy, productive lives.

Symptoms
Signs and symptoms depend on the type of dissociative disorders you have, but may include:

Memory loss (amnesia) of certain time periods, events, people and personal information
A sense of being detached from yourself and your emotions
A perception of the people and things around you as distorted and unreal
A blurred sense of identity
Significant stress or problems in your relationships, work or other important areas of your life
Inability to cope well with emotional or professional stress
Mental health problems, such as depression, anxiety, and suicidal thoughts and behaviors.

There are three major dissociative disorders:

Dissociative amnesia. The main symptom is memory loss that's more severe than normal forgetfulness and that can't be explained by a medical condition. You can't recall information about yourself or events and people in your life, especially from a traumatic time.

Dissociative identity disorder. You may feel the presence of two or more people talking or living inside your head, and you may feel as though you're possessed by other identities.

Depersonalization-derealization disorder. This involves an ongoing or episodic sense of detachment or being outside yourself—observing your actions, feelings, thoughts and self from a distance.
If you relate, keep posted👍🕵

For anyone looking for motivation, I thought of writing this post.
It's my 3rd year now with this lifestyle of Intermittent fasting and I have tried all the combinations. So it can be safe to say that I am experienced at it! ☺. The best benefit I got from IF is that I have lost 102 lbs in all, coming down from 229 lbs (104 kgs) to 126 lbs (56 kgs) currently. So here are my learnings on this journey, that can help anyone :
- Refeeding should be slow and introducing food should be a slow process.
- Break fast with Bone broth. What does it do is that it creates a mucus layer in the stomach for the digestive juices to become active to receive food for digestion.
- Avoid sodium (or go too low) with your first meal only after half an hour of having the broth. So having salad is a good idea.
- After an hour of this you can introduce your 1st meal. High in proteins, less in carbs. This is because body is made of proteins and give it what it's been devoid of for that long a period of fasting. Makes sense, right?
- Eat all your macros in one meal. You should hit your TDEE as a mandate to keep your muscles.
- Balance out your portions according to your macros.
- Plenty of water in fasting period with a quarter teaspoon of pink Himalayan salt in a bottle of water. Standard 1.5 ltrs we talking about. This will help you from any depletion of minerals in your fasting period. I also carry the same prep to my gym too.
- Also can take magnesium tablet 400 mg ( Glycerate form) before a couple of hours of opening the fast.
- Have ACV (Apple cider vinegar) spoonful in a glass of water prior to breaking your fasting window. This helps expedite the fasting process lowering Ghrelin, the hunger hormone.
- Heavy weight training with squats, deadlifts, compound movements, HIIT 3 times a week.

This should seriously help. These are my takeaways from the past few years.
Always remember, your laboratory is within you. We can heal ourselves. That's ⚡powerful!! 👍

Colon Hydrotherapy, also known as Colonic or Colon Irrigation, is a treatment that introduces warm water into the large intestine, releasing stagnant waste material, toxins and intestinal plaque. Colon hydrotherapy is useful for general detoxification and relief of toxin-related ailments or illnesses.

Symptoms of a Toxic Colon
If you suffer from any of the following issues, Colonics might be just what you are needing for health.

– Gas
– Bloating
– Constipation
– Skin Disorders
– Diarrhoea
– Nausea
– Poor absorption of nutrients
– Fatigue
– Parasites
– Depression
– Imsomnia
– Headaches
– Emotional Blockage (feeling stuck)
– Allergies
– Impacted colon
– Halitosis (Bad breath)
– Weight problem.

The colon is the foundation of health in the body in many ways. The colon absorbs water and minerals from the food we digest and produces healthy flora, while at the same time, eliminating waste. It is roughly 5-6 feet long, 2.5 inches in diameter. It is made up of three muscle layers; nerves, blood vessels and mucous membrane lining.

When the small intestine eliminates into the large intestine, that waste is liquid. One of the functions of the colon is to absorb fluid so that it becomes a normal, solid stool.

A diet high in refined foods, excessive fats, low fibrous foods, dehydration and lack of exercise result in a build-up and lack of full, complete waste elimination. The colon becomes overloaded, sluggish and toxic because waste begins to accumulate in its folds and crevices. Compaction of waste in the colon creates a fertile breeding ground for a wide variety of harmful bacteria and yeast.

Toxic build up contains poisons that are slowly reabsorbed into the bloodstream. This depletes the body of vitality and energy resulting in a multitude of what appear to be unrelated symptoms. Colonics gently wash away this build-up of debris, mucus, yeast, parasites and harmful bacteria. Colonics restore the colon to health!

Peristalsis of the Colon is the rhythmic muscle contraction that moves waste from one end of the colon to the other for elimination. When compacted, colon peristalsis is weakened and proper elimination. Having a colonic is like taking your colon to gym.
