After school, your child may not need more questions, more instructions or another task. They may simply need time to reset. 💛

A full school day can take a lot of energy — especially when a child is managing transitions, expectations, social interactions and sensory input.

Before moving straight into homework or demands, try starting with the basics:
💧 Hydrate
🍎 Have a snack
💛 Connect
🌿 Decompress

Sometimes a quiet moment together can make all the difference.
Connection before correction. Recovery before more demands.

The first days of school can bring excitement — but also a lot of change. 🎒
New routines, people, sounds, expectations and transitions can feel overwhelming, and sometimes that stress shows up through behaviour.

Instead of only asking, “How do we stop this behaviour?” try asking:
💛 “What might my child be communicating?”
💛 “What support could make this easier?”

The first weeks are about adjustment, not perfection. Sometimes progress is simply walking into the classroom, asking for help, or making it through a difficult transition.

The goal isn’t just better behaviour. It’s helping children feel safe enough to learn, participate and belong. 🌱

✨ Connection doesn't have to be expensive to be meaningful.

The moments your child will remember most aren't the costly outings or the perfectly planned activities—they're the moments they felt loved, seen, and safe.

A shared laugh, a bedtime story, a cuddle, or just a few minutes of undivided attention can have a lasting impact on your child's emotional development.

💛 Presence over perfection. Connection over entertainment.

Save this post as a reminder that the simplest moments are often the most meaningful.

The moments children remember most aren't usually the expensive ones.

They're the moments when they felt seen.
When someone played with them.
When they laughed together.
When they felt safe, loved, and connected.

Connection doesn't require elaborate plans or costly activities.

Sometimes, the most meaningful memories are created through the simplest moments spent together.

💛 Children may forget what you bought them, but they'll remember how you made them feel.

We often picture family holidays as effortless, exciting, and full of smiles.

But for children, travel can also mean new environments, disrupted routines, long journeys, and lots of sensory input.

When expectations don't match reality, it's easy to mistake overwhelm for misbehaviour.

This summer, try replacing perfection with flexibility.

💛 A snack before a meltdown.
💛 A quiet break between activities.
💛 Familiar routines where possible.
💛 Extra connection when emotions run high.

The goal isn't a perfect holiday.

It's creating memories together.

Save this post before your next family trip and share it with someone travelling with little ones. ✈️

Holidays are exciting—but they can also be overwhelming for children.

New places, different routines, busy environments, and lots of sensory input can make it harder for children to regulate their emotions.

What may look like "difficult behaviour" is often a child trying to adjust to a world that suddenly feels very different.

This summer, try to keep a few familiar routines wherever you are:
💛 A consistent bedtime
💛 Quiet moments to recharge
💛 Familiar snacks
💛 Plenty of connection

Small routines create big security.

Save this post for your next family holiday and share it with another parent who might need this reminder. ✈️

When children say, "I'm bored," our first instinct is often to fix it.

But boredom isn't always something to avoid.

In fact, it gives children the opportunity to slow down, use their imagination, solve problems, and create their own fun.

Not every quiet moment needs a screen or a planned activity.

Sometimes, giving children the space to be bored is exactly what helps creativity grow.

💛 Boredom isn't wasted time—it's often where imagination begins.

Some gifts can't be measured.

A bouquet of flowers.
A child's drawing.
And the trust that grows, one session at a time.

Behind every drawing is a story.
Behind every small step is courage, patience, and teamwork between children, families, and therapists.

As another school year comes to an end, I'm feeling incredibly grateful for every child and every family who allowed me to be part of their journey.

Thank you for your trust. 💛

Wishing everyone a summer filled with rest, play, connection, and beautiful memories.

"I’m bored!"

It's one of the most common phrases parents hear during the summer holidays.

Our first instinct is often to solve it—by offering a screen, planning another activity, or trying to keep children constantly entertained.

But boredom isn't always a problem.

In fact, it gives children the opportunity to be creative, solve problems, use their imagination, and learn how to entertain themselves.

Screens can be a fun part of the day, but they shouldn't be the only answer to boredom.

Sometimes, the best thing we can do is give children the time and space to discover what comes next.

💛 Boredom isn't the enemy—it's often where creativity begins.
