Is your child refusing to go to school every morning? 🏫
Crying, screaming, stomach aches, or repeatedly saying “I don’t want to go” may be more than just difficult behaviour.
School refusal can sometimes be linked to bullying, separation anxiety, friendship problems, academic pressure, social difficulties, or emotional challenges.
Instead of only asking, “Why are you being difficult?” try asking:
“What’s the worst part about school?”
Listen without judgement. The reason may be something your child is struggling to express.
If school refusal is becoming a regular pattern, understanding the underlying cause is an important first step.
At CDC, we help families understand the reasons behind school refusal and identify the right support for their child.
