Position Summary
Ariana Medical Complex Hospital is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Head of Dermatology Department to lead and manage all clinical, academic, and administrative activities of the Dermatology Department. The successful candidate will ensure the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based dermatological services while maintaining excellence in patient care, staff development, quality assurance, and departmental performance.
Employment Requirements
• Education:
• Specialist Degree (MD with specialization in Dermatology)
• Valid Medical License issued by the relevant authority
• Additional qualifications in healthcare management or clinical leadership will be an advantage
• Work Experience:
• Minimum 5–10 years of clinical experience in Dermatology
• Previous leadership or departmental management experience preferred
• Experience in medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology
• Experience in teaching and research activities is an added advantage
• Skills:
• Strong clinical expertise in dermatology
• Excellent leadership and decision-making abilities
• Effective communication and team management skills
• Strategic planning and organizational skills
• Ability to supervise and mentor medical staff
• Knowledge of quality assurance, patient safety, and infection control standards
• Proficiency in Dari, Pashto, and English
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Leadership
• Oversee diagnosis and management of skin, hair, and nail disorders.
• Supervise dermatological procedures including biopsies, excisions, and laser therapies.
• Manage complex and referral dermatology cases.
• Ensure adherence to evidence-based clinical guidelines.
Administrative & Operational Management
• Plan and coordinate departmental activities and services.
• Develop and implement departmental policies, protocols, and SOPs.
• Monitor service efficiency, patient flow, and resource utilization.
• Ensure proper maintenance of equipment and supplies.
Staff Development
• Lead, supervise, and evaluate dermatology physicians, nurses, and technicians.
• Organize Continuing Medical Education (CME) and professional development programs.
• Participate in recruitment and performance appraisal activities.
Quality & Safety
• Implement quality improvement and infection prevention measures.
• Monitor clinical outcomes and patient satisfaction indicators.
• Ensure compliance with hospital accreditation and regulatory standards.
Academic & Research Activities
• Promote clinical research and scientific publications.
• Conduct educational sessions for junior doctors and students.
