🤖🫁 AI and Immunotherapy: Could a CT Scan Reveal More Than We Think?

In advanced NSCLC, one of the biggest questions is still the hardest one: who will truly benefit from immunotherapy, and how early can we know if it is working? 👀

A promising idea is the QVT score — an AI-driven, CT-derived biomarker that reflects tumor vascular complexity. In the material you shared, higher QVT scores were associated with worse overall survival, and early treatment-related changes in QVT were also linked with outcomes.

What makes this especially notable is that it is based on routine CT imaging and may capture a different dimension of tumor biology than standard tools alone. Not just tumor size. Not just PD-L1. But the vascular architecture that may influence immune-cell access, hypoxia, and treatment response. 🧠🔬

If future studies confirm these results, this could become an important step toward:
✨ earlier treatment assessment
✨ smarter patient selection
✨ more precise immunotherapy decisions
AI is steadily changing oncology — and this may be one of those signals worth watching closely. 🚀

🎓We are proud to share that Dr. Ruzanna Papyan, lead of our Pediatric Oncology Team, has successfully defended her PhD thesis titled “Evaluation of Prognostic Factors Affecting Survival in Children and Adolescents with Musculoskeletal Sarcomas in Armenia,” under the supervision of Professor Gevorg Tamamyan, CEO of IMMONC.

This work focuses on an important and challenging area in pediatric oncology, exploring the factors that influence survival among children and adolescents with musculoskeletal sarcomas in Armenia. Beyond its scientific value, the thesis reflects real clinical challenges, real patients, and the ongoing commitment to improving cancer care for young people in our setting.

About the Role:
The Immune Oncology Research Institute is seeking a dedicated Diagnostic Access Coordinator to join our team as part of the Diagnostic Quality Improvement Project implemented at Yeolyan Hematology and Oncology Center. This role is essential for
strengthening diagnostic access by coordinating external diagnostic review workflows, telepathology processes, and case tracking to support timely, accurate, and well-documented
patient care.

Key Responsibilities:
• Coordinate sample collection, packaging, documentation, and international shipment
• Maintain a real-time case-tracking dashboard for externally reviewed cases
• Serve as the main communication link between Yeolyan Center and external diagnostic
centers
• Ensure accurate completion of shipping and consent documentation
• Support telepathology workflows, including case submission, image upload, documentation,
and coordination of case discussions
• Maintain secure records of turnaround times, diagnostic concordance, and corrective actions
• Monitor case flow, identify delays, and escalate workflow challenges to project leadership
• Identify workflow gaps and support continuous quality improvement and long-term process
sustainability
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in medicine, biology, public health, or laboratory sciences
• High level of English proficiency
• Experience in clinical coordination, quality improvement, or laboratory workflows is preferred
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Experience in effective collaboration with clinical and laboratory teams, including international partners, will be considered an asset.
