The S7 Academies Joint Statement calls on the G7 to recognize brain health as a strategic priority for societal resilience, public health, and economic sustainability. Brain disorders affect 1 in 3 people during their lifetime and are a leading cause of disability worldwide.

SBHF welcomes this initiative, which aligns with Switzerland's integrated approach to brain health — including the work of Claudio L. A. Bassetti, Indrit Bègue, and the Swiss Brain Health Plan (SBHP). Both the EAN Brain Health Strategy and Bègue et al.'s "One brain, one mind, one health, one planet" are explicitly cited in the statement.

Key recommendations include the establishment of a G7 Brain Health Advisory Council, increased international investment, and stronger collaboration in neuroscience, prevention, and AI-driven research.

📉 Yet only 2% of health budgets go to mental health
The gap is real.

And so is the need for action.
