A new technology for the treatment of atrial fibrillation. 💙

The Volt™ Pulsed Field Ablation System by Abbott has been used for the first time in the cardiac catheterization laboratory at Private Hospital Confraternität & Goldenes Kreuz.

For Prof. Lukas Fiedler, Head of Interventional Cardiology and an expert in cardiac rhythm disorders, and his team, this marks another important step in the treatment of atrial fibrillation.

The new system enables both cardiac mapping and ablation using a single catheter. High-energy electrical pulses can be precisely directed at the areas responsible for the abnormal heart rhythm while helping to preserve the surrounding tissue as much as possible. 🩺

Studies have reported success rates of up to 90%.

Our da Vinci Xi does more than look good in a team photo: the robotic surgical system has already been used in 200 procedures at Döbling Private Hospital in Vienna.

And it has only been a permanent member of the operating room team for just over a year.

During this time, the da Vinci surgical team has become well accustomed to its new “colleague”, creating a smooth and coordinated workflow between surgeons, the OR team and the robotic system. 🦾
