One of the most beautiful moments in IFS work
is when someone meets a part
they’ve spent years avoiding.
The angry one.
The people-pleaser.
The numb one.
The part that eats, scrolls, snaps, hides, works too much.
Not to fight with it.
Not to fix it.
But just to sit beside it —
with curiosity and warmth,
compassion and an ear for understanding
why it’s here and what it wants you to know.
The intention behind it is often surprising.
Sometimes protective.
Sometimes tender.
Often far from what we assumed.
When we truly understand the context—
how this part evolved —
something in us softens.
And for the first time ever…
that part can be heard.
