Creativ Minds kicked off its Group Activity Program two weeks ago with a Mini Games & Quiz Night! 🎉🎈🤩

Thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to a night of fun, laughter, and competition! Congrats to “The Winners” for winning — what a fitting Team Name! 😉 We hope you all enjoyed yourselves. 🌷🌙

We aimed to implement one-on-one mentoring in a group setting for participants to achieve their social and community access goals and practice skills learned during individual mentoring sessions within a wider group setting!

July's Employee of the Month Winner: Simone! 🌟

Our wonderful Simone joined the Creativ Minds team in July 2024. Since joining, she has made great connections with participants, providing them with high-quality care and person-centred support. Simone provides her clients with active listening, empathy, and encouragement to progress towards their goals, while still respecting their decisions and autonomy.

One particular moment that stood out to us was Simone's incredible ability to problem solve on the spot when she encountered something that posed a risk to a participant's health. When Simone identifies any risks to her participants' well-being, not only does she take immediate action to reduce these -- she also takes steps to mitigate future risks. She always documents these in her wonderfully detailed case notes, and raises any issues with management as well.

While that was a stand out moment, it wasn't the only one. Simone has consistently demonstrated high levels of attunement and attentiveness to her participants' specific moods, surroundings, wellbeing, and needs. She maintains a delicate balance between encouraging them to take small steps towards their goals, while also recognising when they might need additional support or advocacy.

It is evident how comfortable her participants feel with her. Simone is a safe space -- the rapport and trust built between her and her participants have helped them through challenging times and situations. Simone plays a huge role in her participants' lives while upholding strong professional boundaries, to ensure everyone's well-being.

Simone, we're so lucky and grateful to have you as one of our mentors (and Group Facilitator as well now)! We are so proud of your continuous performance, growth, and your receptiveness to feedback. Thank you for all of your care and dedication, and for being a part of Creativ Minds. 🩷✨

Lynette has shared that she thoroughly enjoys attending weekly art classes with the support of her mentor. We are so proud of all her progress and watching her confidence grow. Great work, Lynette! 🩷

Our mentoring program aims to encourage participants to build confidence in engaging with enjoyable and creative activities of interest within the community.

Hi everyone! One of our lovely, incredible support workers/mentors, Fiona, will be taking part in "Taking The Plunge", a fundraiser to raise awareness for youth mental health and su***de prevention.

Creativ Minds is launching a group activity program, starting with a Mini Games & Quiz Night in August! ☀️🩷

This will be a 1:1 mentoring session (one participant with one mentor) in a group setting. Our goal is for our participants to socialise with others, have fun, and practice skills worked on during mentoring sessions in a group setting! 🤩🎉✨

Date: Friday 28th August
Time: 6:00-8:00pm
Location: To be confirmed (a community centre in the Southern suburbs)

Not only is it a weekly outing to look forward to, but an opportunity to get out into the community and feel connected to our incredible city, engage with his passions, build confidence and sense of fulfilment, and he has even printed his art to display and gift to others.

🌻 Do you know about the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower? It's an international symbol of awareness for those with hidden disabilities, like autism, anxiety, and chronic pain. It promotes awareness and inclusivity, allowing individuals with hidden disabilities to navigate public spaces with greater ease and support.

Wearing the Sunflower lets others know that you (or someone with you) has an invisible disability and might need a little extra assistance, patience and understanding while navigating public places such as shopping centres and airports.

🛍️ You can pick up a lanyard or wristband at the Concierge desk of most Westfield Shopping Centres!
