ACDHS welcomed last week’s announcement expanding the Commonwealth Prac Payment to students across 10 additional allied health and frontline professions from July 2027.

This is a significant step towards reducing placement poverty and supporting more students to complete their qualifications and enter Australia's allied health workforce.

ACDHS has long advocated for this reform through the Universities Accord process, policy research and collaboration with key partners.

As ACDHS Chair Professor Terry Haines said, "This announcement will provide much needed relief for allied health students and their families, and it is positive news for all Australians that rely on the services provided by our future allied health graduates."
