10 days of birth Tips & Tricks! ‼️✔️

For the next 10 days I will be posting 1 tip a day for 10 days!! Well I will try keep on top of it. I am certainly not the best at keeping on top of socials and that is ok. You can still have a successful business and not be on socials all the time. 🤭

A scrunchie! Such a simple item everyone owns, it can bring relief for those who experience nausea during labour. Pop it on your wrist with a drop of peppermint EO and sniff when you start to feel unwell. It helps enormously! If you don't wish to wear it ask your doula or your birth support person, husband or tie it close to you.

This simple trick can help along side the acupressure wrist technique also ( Inner gate P6 on your forearm) ask someone to do this

✨️ WORLD DOULA WEEK ✨️

This job is incredible and one day I will be back at helping mummas achieve their birth goals ✨️

There is something so deeply sacred about being invited into a birth space and being accepted into such a vulnerable space and time it truly is invaluable.

To witness a woman step into her power and ace her births is incredible to watch. To hold space through the unknown, to offer calm amoungst those intense waves, and to see new life take its very first breath it truly never ever loses its magic.

Being a doula isn’t just what I do, it is something I carry in my heart. It’s the quiet encouragement, the steady presence, the unwavering belief in a mother when she needs it most even if no words are exchanged before she births her baby. Knowing you have the support, someone with the knowledge and someone to hold space for you is eveything!!

Every birth is different. Every story is powerful. And every time, I leave in awe of the strength, resilience, and beauty of women.

This work fills my cup in ways words will never fully capture.

Blessed 🙌 🙏

Labour after loss 🤍

[ part 2 ]

I was shocked. The pregnancy before my pregnancy with Sofia was surfacing strong and hard. Tears just hit me over and over, then the sadness flew away like a beautiful white butterfly 🦋 all in an instant. I was content, I was okay, ready and hooked in the moment, ready to meet my now baby.

Shortly after, I knew I was having a beautiful little girl very soon (this pregnancy was a surprise gender). The overwhelming feeling I was having a girl hit me, transition arose, and I birthed my healthy baby girl 🩷

Those rollercoaster emotions were short-lived during labour, but they were strong and real. So raw it was hard to ignore. I never thought they would surface again — it was healing, and a sign it was okay for us to move on 🤍

Those feelings I did not prepare myself for and too be honest I don't think I could have even if I tried. It was all part of our journey and that's okay!

The soul we never met will forever be with us. Some say they never leave and will show threw your living children! Heartache is love ❤️

Labour after loss 🤍

[ Part 1 ]

The weeks leading up to labour and birth with Sofia Leilani, it never once crossed my mind that i would face such a challenge when in labour with her. I didnt think the pain and heartache would resurface after so much healing.

We were pregnant from October 2024 to Jan 21st 2025 which tragically resulted in a loss.  I didn't prepare mentally, nor did I think I should have prepared mentally for such thoughts that hit me that night.

I was in prodromal labour on and off for about a week and had small tightenings for weeks leading up to birth — a lot of false alarms. So when I was in labour, I was in denial, not believing I was actually about to meet my baby.

Still, in the early hours of labour, I had no thoughts of my pregnancy before Sofia. Throughout the early hours of the morning, I was riding the waves, still in denial laughing, chatting, tidying the lounge, discussing random topics with my birth team, quoting lyrics from my birth playlist. I did not take notice of how dilated I was, how far I had progressed still in denial, my baby was on the way.

I was in the birth pool and the surges ramped up, my thoughts flooded in like a tidal wave. I asked my doula, with tears rolling down uncontrollably, “Is it normal to think about my other baby and not the baby I am about to birth? Was it normal to grieve whilst in the last stages of labour?” why am i so emotional about my last pregnancy right now, in this moment? "

"Yes, absolutely, its ok. ," my doula whispered quietly to me 🤍

REST ✨️ The fourth trimester! Often forgotten. Rest is so important for healing. You body is ever so slowly healing on the inside, and slowly is okay. Don't rush it! Your body has been through alot.

Here are some things that can help with healing,

✨️Daily soft stretching
✨️Chiro ( I highly recommend .chiro )
✨️Saying no to outtings or areas of life that drain your inner peace, peace and rest are big factors on your healing journey.
✨️Massage ( I highly recommend )
✨️Talk it out with friends and family members
✨️Delegate tasks where able.
✨️Herb baths
✨️Natropath appointment for hormone support ( DM for recommendations)

Rest like it is your job! Hard with other kids running around, totally get that! Try and eliminate other factors that can wait and replace it with rest and gentle activities that make you feel good.

Lower your expectations! Lower them good like leave them on the floor. Each day has it's challenging moments with a baby + other kids, don't make it more challenging by adding. Let's subtract our lives during this time.

Be gentle and kind to yourself! You will again soon feel yourself 🧡 Keep going mumma!

We would also like to thank the following amazing people!
chiro Thank you for resetting my body, making me feel amazing, adjusting my body so I could feel my best during pregnancy and beyond pregnancy. It feels like home at the practice and not because I was there 3 days a week, but because you all are incredibly kind and welcoming, so thank you 💕

Thank you for supporting Jamie and I in those earlier weeks of pregnancy, that one session really helped us trust and gave us so much strength and healing. 🕊

Thank you for the chats, the soulful conversations, the beautiful massages and calming energy you brought to each session we had together 💓

My family natropath - Sam was always ensuring I had the best vitamins, tissue salts and so much more to help me feel my best and give my body and baby what it needed to thrive.

Forever gratful 💓💓

The birth portal, it is a wild ride. A ride I didn't do alone.

My husband held me and supported me all the way through pregnancy, and through the labour process. He is a shoulder to cry on and a helping hand in all aspects of our now busy life with 3 kids and 2 x businesses. I am forever gratful my love 🩵

reminded me to stay grounded, breathe and let go and when doubt set in, she was there whispering all the words I needed to hear. Her care for women in the PP period is incredible, thank you so much. Being a doula myself, people often asked why do I need one? I always said, I deserve one. Everyone does!! 🤍

Jo from Embrace Midwifery always listened to my fears, doubts, questions and trusted the journey, which made me feel safe and 100 % supported from every angle, & beginning at 3 weeks pregnant. ✨️

I cannot thank you all enough! I am forever grateful for the support you have all given me during this journey. The level of care was phenomenal & encouragement during the transition phase of labour was amazing! 🤍

It took work, faith, trust and strength & we did that together all in different ways.

Homebirth is only scary if you allow those fears to win.

I am forever grateful of my experiences with birth and honoured to be able to grow and birth my beautiful babies.🙏

Now we navigate the 4th trimester, an often forgotten one. PP support is just as important as PN and Labour support. PP support is invaluable and I'm forever grateful for the support I've received thus far.

Be the boss of your own journey and recruit the right team for you. You'll never regret the money spent, the time spent and the prep. Because you will never forgot the birth of your babies 🤍🤍
