π€ Event 2: Thriving Autistically 2025 β Day 5
True Crime & Serial Killers: The Black Dahlia Murders
Together weβll explore the socio-cultural, artistic, and psychological landscape surrounding the 1947 murder of Elizabeth Short β known as the Black Dahlia. Through a trauma-informed, neurodivergent lens, weβll look beyond caricatures of βvictimβ and βvillainβ to understand Elizabeth Short and Dr. George Hodel as neurodivergent individuals shaped by patriarchy, psychiatry, and surrealist art.
Weβll also reflect on Steve Hodelβs decades-long investigation of his father, reframing it as an expression of neurodivergent hyperfocus, legacy trauma, and meaning-making.
