🚗💛 Staying Connected, Independent and Informed 💛🚗

Residents at The Elms Retirement Village recently enjoyed an informative presentation from Driving Miss Daisy, learning more about the transport and support services available within the local community.

The session provided residents with valuable information about maintaining independence, staying connected to family, friends and community activities, and accessing support when needed.

It was wonderful to see residents actively engaging, asking questions and exploring options that can help them continue living life on their own terms.

A special thank you to Sandy from Driving Miss Daisy for taking the time to visit our community and share her knowledge with residents.

🌯 A Wonderful Afternoon at Kings Park 🍷

There is something truly special about sharing a meal together.

Today, our Kings Park residents gathered for a delicious homemade yiros lunch, lovingly prepared and personally served by our wonderful Village Manager, Adriana, with assistance from our Portfolio Coordinator, Emily.

With beautifully set tables, fresh yiros, golden chips, great conversation and a glass of wine specially selected by our Managing Director, Freddy Bartlett, the room was filled with laughter, friendship and community spirit.

At Sanctuary Villages, we believe the best moments are often the simplest ones-coming together, sharing stories and enjoying each other’s company.

We are incredibly grateful for our residents, who continually embrace the special events, activities and experiences our team creates across our villages. Their enthusiasm, warmth and willingness to participate are what make our communities so vibrant and welcoming.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us today and helped make the afternoon so memorable. ❤️

𝗧𝗵𝗲 “𝗖𝗼𝘄𝗯𝗲𝗹𝗹 𝗟𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗲𝘀” – 𝗔 𝗦𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗙𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗱𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽, 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 & 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 🤍

During COVID lockdowns, a group of ladies at Signature Gardens came together with one simple goal — to stay connected during an isolating time.

Every morning, the cowbell would ring, chairs would come out into the driveway, coffees would be poured, and stories and laughter would be shared. ☕️

What began as a small daily ritual soon became something incredibly special ; a lasting friendship group built on kindness, support and genuine connection.

Years later, the “Cowbell Ladies” are still catching up, still laughing together, and still reminding us all what community living is truly about.

Their beautiful story was even featured on A Current Affair, where they shared how these friendships helped them through one of life’s most challenging periods.

At Signature Gardens, residents often tell us that what they value most isn’t just the homes or beautifully maintained surroundings-it’s the people.

Meet Ben Challenger, Village & Sales Manager at Sanctuary Villages Langton Park Retirement Village. ✨

Known for his approachable nature and strong connection with residents, Ben is passionate about creating a welcoming environment where people feel connected, supported and truly at home.

For Ben, the most rewarding part of managing Langton Park is the opportunity to build genuine relationships with residents and help foster a community that feels more like a neighbourhood than simply a place to live. Whether it’s sharing conversations with residents, supporting village life or enhancing the resident experience, Ben brings warmth and dedication to everything he does.

Ben also has a deep appreciation for Langton Park’s beautiful established gardens, which he believes are the heart of the village. He is passionate about preserving these lush green spaces and creating an environment where residents can enjoy peaceful walks, connect with neighbours and feel proud to call Langton Park home.

There’s something special about mornings that bring a community together ☕🍳

Residents at Signature Gardens enjoyed a wonderful complimentary bacon and egg breakfast this week, generously hosted by our dedicated Resident Committee.

Filled with laughter, conversation and friendly faces, the morning was a beautiful reminder that community living is about so much more than just where you live — it’s about connection, belonging and sharing life’s simple moments together.

These gatherings are what make village life so meaningful, creating friendships, strengthening connections and fostering the warm community spirit that makes Signature Gardens feel like home.

A heartfelt thank you to all the volunteers who helped make the morning so welcoming and enjoyable for everyone, with special thanks to Amy and Dan for volunteering their time on the BBQ. 💛

🌸 Celebrating the Wonderful Women of The Elms 🌸

Residents at The Elms enjoyed a beautiful week of Mother’s Day celebrations, filled with connection, laughter and thoughtful moments shared together.

We were delighted to welcome the lovely team from Rageism Beauty, who hosted a wonderful beauty and wellness session featuring product demonstrations, make-up tips and pampering experiences that helped our residents look and feel their very best. 💄✨

The celebrations continued with a beautifully presented Mother’s Day dinner, complete with raffle prizes, special touches and a warm community atmosphere to ensure every resident felt celebrated and appreciated.

At Sanctuary Villages, we believe retirement living is about so much more than a place to live - it’s about creating moments of joy, confidence, friendship and meaningful connection every day. 💕

🍽️✨ Cooking Up a Storm at The Elms Retirement Estate - Kilmore, VICTORIA! ✨🍽️

On 1 December 2025, we held our very first Cooking Session, expertly hosted by Marlene Gooding, a qualified chef with a Graduate Diploma in Industry Education and Training.

With 6 eager participants, Marlene led the group through creative recipes using leftover Christmas turkey, including:
🍴 Turkey and Leek Vol-au-vents
🍴 Turkey, Mushroom, Brie & Cranberry Baked Rolls
🍴 Turkey Divan (gluten-free options available!)
🍴 Tomatoes stuffed with Prawn Cocktail or Potato Salad
🍴 Hazelnut Discs with Chocolate Hazelnut Spread and Vanilla Frosting (similar to macarons!)

In just 2 hours, everyone prepared these delicious dishes and then enjoyed a lovely shared lunch together.

This session follows the popular entree-main-dessert format Marlene has previously run with U3A and Brimbank Council.

We’re excited to announce the next session will be in February, with 7 participants already registered (max 8 per session). Cooking sessions will be held monthly, with additional dates if interest grows.
