🚛💨 The Hidden Health Cost of Truck & Bus Pollution in Australia 🇦🇺

A recent report published by The Guardian highlights alarming findings from researchers at the University of Melbourneabout air pollution from heavy vehicles across Australia.

Although trucks and buses make up a small percentage of vehicles on our roads, they contribute a disproportionately high level of harmful emissions. These pollutants are linked to serious health conditions including respiratory disease, heart disease, and premature deaths.

💰 The estimated cost? Around $6.2 billion every year in health impacts.

👶🏽👵🏽 Those most at risk include children, older Australians, and communities living near major freight routes.

This isn’t just an environmental issue. it’s a public health issue. Cleaner transport solutions, stronger emission standards, and accelerating the shift to low-emission and electric heavy vehicles could significantly reduce these impacts.
