Maybe the little things we do on repeat matter more than we realise.

Changing into trackies after work.
Putting your shoes on for a morning walk.
Making a coffee before you sit down to start the day.

Over time, these little rituals can become cues. Our brains are very good at learning patterns and using information from our bodies and environment to help work out what happens next. 🧠

And we talk about this a lot in the chiropractic world. There’s a growing body of research looking at what happens in the nervous system following a chiropractic adjustment including changes in sensory processing and sensorimotor integration.

Which is fascinating to us because an adjustment isn’t happening just on a spinal level.

Your nervous system is constantly receiving information from your body and your brain is constantly making sense of it all, learning and adapting as you go.

So today’s practice conversation started with trackies… and somehow ended up with neuroscience. 😂

What’s your ritual that lets your brain know it’s time to shift gears?

Your nervous system and immune system are in constant conversation 🧠🦠 And researchers are pretty interested in that relationship including whether chiropractic care might influence some of the physiological processes involved.

Which we think is a pretty fascinating question. 🙋‍♀️

One study looked at secretory immunoglobulin A (SIgA) before and after upper cervical chiropractic care specifically.

SIgA is a bit like your body’s security bouncer. It hangs out in places like your saliva and your airways helping to form part of your first line of immune defence.

Interestingly, researchers found SIgA levels were significantly higher 30 minutes after a chiropractic adjustment compared with before, before returning towards baseline at the two-week follow-up.

Now, does this study mean chiropractic prevents colds or “boosts” your immune system? It is not telling us that. This was an observational study without a control group, so there’s plenty more research to be done (and there has been more research in this space - we just thought this was an interesting one to share today!).

What we DO know is that the nervous system and immune system are deeply interconnected. They constantly communicate and influence the way our bodies respond.

And understanding where chiropractic might fit into that conversation?

That’s the interesting bit. 👀

Especially while a lot of people seem to be coughing and spluttering their way through August. 🤧😂

Community looks a little bit like this. 💙

Harriet and J (an amazing person we care for) realised they kept accidentally turning up in matching outfits… so we thought we’d lean into it and make the denim dress this mornings unofficial uniform. 👖

Special shout-out to J for reminding Harriet to sew the buttons back onto her dress before this morning. 😂 (A detail Harriet definitely appreciated.)

It’s the little moments like these that make Saturdays at The Chiro Crew one of our favourite days of the week. Thanks for always bringing the laughs, the chats, and the sense of community. 💛

(P.S. Head to our stories for a photo with the amazing J.)

We are going to love handing these out. 💙🧡

We’ve refreshed our Welcome Pack for everyone beginning care at The Chiro Crew.

Not because it’s a nice folder (although we think it looks pretty great 😏), but because it represents the start of something.

A new understanding of your body.
A plan that’s built around you.
And hopefully… a whole lot of moments over the coming months where you think, “I didn’t realise I could feel like this again.”

Inside you’ll find:
📖 What we’ve discovered about your amazing body
🧠 Our recommendations and why we’ve made them
✨ What to expect throughout your care
🏡 Practice information, so you always know what’s happening
🌱 A life habits tracker to help you notice the little choices that support your health

We know there’s a lot to take in during your Report of Findings appointment, so this gives you something to come back to whenever you need. Read it again. Highlight it. Bring it with you. Ask questions.

Because our goal isn’t just to adjust your spine. It’s to help you understand your body, feel confident in your care, and get excited about what’s possible.

We can’t wait to welcome more people to The Chiro Crew (and help them become better for it!)💙🧡

POV: You try to film professional chiropractic content with Adelle. 😂

If you’ve been to The Chiro Crew, you already know her laugh but we think it deserves its own introduction. MEET THE AMAZING ADELLE GIGGLE 🤭

These are all the moments that definitely weren’t meant to make the cut... but somehow became our favourite part.

See you in practice this morning! Giggles included. 💙

Ever tried marching on the spot with your eyes closed?

This is called the Fukuda stepping test, and it’s one simple way I look at how your brain is processing information from your inner ear, eyes, muscles and joints to help you know where you are in space.

If you noticeably drift, rotate or move forward while your eyes are closed, it doesn’t automatically mean something is wrong. But it can give us a useful clue that your balance system may be working harder than it needs to.

For athletes, this can matter for body awareness, coordination, reaction time and confidence in movement.

But it’s not just for athletes. Your balance system is working all day, when you’re walking, training, carrying groceries, chasing kids, or moving through a busy life.

I use tests like this as part of the bigger picture. It’s never about one test giving us all the answers, but it can help us understand how your nervous system is adapting and where we might be able to support you better.

Want to try it? Give yourself plenty of clear space first… drifting into the coffee table is not the goal 😂

Three things I talk to athletes (and everyday athletes 💪) about all the time:

🧠 Chiropractic isn’t only for when something hurts.
It can be part of supporting how your body moves, adapts and responds to the physical demands of training, work and life.

⚡️Your nervous system is involved in every movement you make. From balance and coordination to strength, reaction time and recovery, it is constantly taking in information and helping your body respond.

🏃‍♂️The goal isn’t just to get you back on the field, in the gym or through your day. It’s to help you move with more confidence, capacity and connection to your body while you do the things you love.

Whether you’re training for a big event, getting back into movement, or just wanting to feel more like yourself in your body - chiropractic care can be part of your support crew. 💙

HOT TAKE: the best athletes don’t just train harder.

They train smarter which includes paying attention to the system running the whole show.

Your nervous system is constantly taking in information, coordinating movement, helping you react, recover and adapt to the demands of training and competition.

When it’s under more stress than it can handle, it can show up as slower recovery, inconsistent performance, poor coordination, fatigue, recurring niggles, or that feeling that your body just isn’t doing what you know it can do.

This means your training plan should look at more than muscles, mileage and macros.

Performance starts with how well your body can adapt.

And that starts with your nervous system. 💙
