LED PRO™ is the world's first patented everyday ophthalmic lens engineered specifically for LED environments.

So how does it work?

Clear ophthalmic lenses have never been designed to address the specific effects of LED light. The typical solution has been broad spectrum blue light filters which block large sections of the visible spectrum. While these lenses can reduce discomfort, they often dim brightness, distort colour and reduce contrast – making everyday vision less sharp and natural.

LED PRO takes a different approach: selective absorption. 🎯

Instead of blocking broadly and compromising vision quality, LED PRO uses advanced dye technology to target only the two LED peaks most responsible for glare and fatigue: 450 nm and 590 nm. By absorbing these narrow bands while allowing surrounding wavelengths through, LED PRO maintains natural brightness, contrast and colour. The result is sharper and more comfortable vision in LED environments.

LED PRO is an everyday lens with a very subtle green hue – a visible sign of its advanced absorption technology. With an anti-reflective coating, it achieves nearly 90% light transmission and looks almost clear on the face. The slight hue is imperceptible to the wearer.

In fact, LED PRO is classified as a Category 0 lens – the same category as standard clear lenses, with no restrictions on use for either day or night driving.

LED PRO is currently available in prescription lenses in 1.60 and 1.67 material and with digital processing is suitable for both single vision and progressive lenses.

Who needs LED PRO™? Answer: people who wear corrective lenses and spend time in LED lit environments.

LED lighting touches almost every part of daily life. It’s in offices, homes, on the road, classrooms, warehouses, screens and entertainment spaces. If LED light is part of your everyday life then LED PRO can help, particularly in these scenarios:

🧑‍💼 Office workers under bright overhead lighting and on screens
🎧Gamers managing LED monitor glare and bright flashes during extended sessions
🚗Drivers facing bright LED headlights and street lighting on night roads
📺Anyone unwinding at home in the evening when LED lighting and screens are hardest on tired eyes
🖥️ Students and professionals doing close, detailed screen work for hours at a time
🛒Retail and health workers spending long days under bright LED lighting
🏟️ Sports fans and live event goers under intense LED stadium and venue lighting
🎾 People playing sport under LED floodlights or court lighting from tennis to pickleball to lawn bowls
🏥 Clinicians and staff in medical and healthcare settings working under bright LED lighting

LED PRO is designed for how we actually live for sharper and more comfortable vision in every LED lit moment.

LED PRO is the world’s first patented ophthalmic lens designed for today’s LED lit world.

👁️Greater comfort
By managing LED exposure, LED PRO helps minimise eye strain, fatigue and headaches that can be associated with LED light. Your eyes stay comfortable all day.

🎯Sharper vision
Reduced LED glare means clearer detail and improved contrast in any lighting environment with LED PRO.

🌈Natural colour and true contrast
Unlike broad-spectrum blue light blocking lenses that can dull vision, LED PRO preserves natural colour and sharp contrast by targeting only what disrupts vision – not the entire spectrum.

✔️All-day wearability
LED PRO is designed as an everyday lens with a subtle green hue that powers the technology. With an anti-reflective coating the lens appears almost invisible on the face and is imperceptible to the wearer.

🛡️Everyday eye protection
LED PRO blocks 100% of UV and selectively absorbs potentially harmful blue light, supporting eye comfort and protection throughout the day.

Whether working under LED lighting, gaming, watching screens, driving or playing sport under lights, LED PRO delivers comfort and clarity in every LED lit moment.

Introducing LED PRO: smart lenses for an LED lit world.

It’s the world’s first patented ophthalmic lens designed specifically for LED light.

LED light surrounds us – from screens and overhead lights in workplaces, to car headlights and home environments. These everyday LED sources emit concentrated peaks of light, particularly at 450 nm and 590 nm.

These narrow wavelength peaks are linked to glare, eye strain and visual fatigue which can compromise comfort and visual clarity. All of this affects how you see and perform throughout the day in an LED lit world.

To address this, LED PRO selectively absorbs the 450 nm and 590 nm peaks. The result? Reduced glare for greater comfort, sharper vision, improved contrast sensitivity and natural colour perception in any LED lit environment.

Whether driving at night, gaming, watching TV, playing night or indoor sport, or working under LED lighting or on screens – LED PRO is designed for the way we live.

LED PRO is available in prescription lenses from independent optometrists in Australia and New Zealand.

The way we light our world has changed. It's brighter, it’s more intense and it’s constant.

LED lighting has transformed how we live and work: from the screens we use daily to the car headlights we face at night, from brightly lit workplaces to our homes where we relax.
But this constant exposure to LED light comes with new demands on our eyes, our visual performance and our comfort.

Younger Optics has 70 years of optical innovation from the first seamless bifocal that paved the way for progressive lenses, to the world's first photochromic polarized driving lens. We've always understood how a changing world shapes vision needs.

Something new is coming. Built around the way we actually live and work now in an LED lit world.

Transitions Drivewear is a polarized photochromic lens designed specifically for driving. It's the world's only lens that changes to three different colours while also adjusting darkness and blocking glare.

The lens colours shifts from Yellow/Olive in low light, to Copper in medium bright conditions and Dark Brown in full sun providing the right colour at the right time. Always polarized, Transitions Drivewear blocks blinding glare from the road and shiny surfaces.

If you prefer a single tint polarized lens rather than photochromic lenses, NuPolar offers excellent options for driving:

🧡Copper: Improves contrast and depth perception to better spot potential hazards, improves traffic signal recognition and increases legibility of road signs. A soothing colour for the eyes.

🤎 Brown: Filters bright light and provides exceptionally enhanced contrast and depth perception.

🩶Grey: Blocks excess sunlight for greater comfort when driving in bright light for extended periods. Colours remain true.

💚 Green: Good for blocking out excess light while offering more contrast than Grey.

A green lens offers a versatile middle ground for sunglass wearers 🌿

Green suits patients who want more contrast than Grey but prefer a more neutral look than a Brown or Copper lens. The grey-green colour also appeals to fashion conscious patients.

Green maintains good colour perception while improving contrast. It's particularly useful for brightening shadows – ideal for patients moving between sun and shade throughout the day.

When a green lens is combined with NuPolar polarization it cuts bright light and glare effectively while reducing eye strain in both bright sun and overcast conditions.

Green is the dependable recommendation for patients who spend time outdoors but don't have highly specific activity needs.

💡 Dispensing Tip: When a patient likes Grey's colour accuracy but mentions struggling in shadows or wanting more contrast, Green delivers both.

NuPolar Green lenses are available in Solid style.

Quality polarized lenses with high polarizing efficiency provide a far superior visual experience over regular tinted lenses.
