Don’t forget to book your annual flu vaccine! 🀧 πŸ€’πŸ¦

At Reynella Medical Centre, we are running dedicated flu vaccine clinics to make it quick and easy for you to stay protected this season.

What is influenza?
Influenza (the flu) is a highly contagious viral infection that can cause fever, cough, body aches, and fatigue β€” and in some cases, serious complications requiring hospitalisation.

Who should get vaccinated?
Flu vaccination is recommended for everyone aged 6 months and over.

Why every year?
The flu virus changes each year, and immunity from the vaccine decreases over time. That’s why an annual flu shot is the best way to stay protected.

Free vaccines are available under the National Immunisation Program for eligible patients, including:
βœ”οΈ Children aged 6 months to under 5 years
βœ”οΈ Adults aged 65 years and over
βœ”οΈ Pregnant women
βœ”οΈ Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people
βœ”οΈ People with certain medical conditions

For patients not eligible for a free vaccine, private flu vaccines are available for $22.

National Bowel Cancer Screening Program – Are You Eligible?

Bowel cancer is one of the most common cancers in Australia β€” but when detected early, it is highly treatable.

The National Bowel Cancer Screening Program offers FREE screening kits to eligible Australians.

πŸ‘€ Who is eligible?
Australians aged 45–74 years can request or will receive a free bowel screening kit (FOBT) in the mail every 2 years.

The test is simple, private, and can be done at home. Your next trip to the bathroom could save your life.

⚠️ Know the Signs & Symptoms

See your GP if you experience:
β€’ Blood in your bowel motions
β€’ Changes in bowel habits (diarrhoea or constipation)
β€’ Unexplained weight loss
β€’ Abdominal pain
β€’ Persistent fatigue or anaemia

Even if you feel well, screening is important β€” bowel cancer can develop without symptoms.

At Reynella Medical Centre, our GPs can:
βœ” Help you understand the screening process
βœ” Discuss your personal risk factors
βœ” Arrange further testing if needed

If you’ve received your kit β€” don’t put it aside.

If you have any concerns or unsure about your eligibility please speak to your GP.

Early detection saves lives.
