Aged Care Counselling and Advocacy SA
Founded in 2016, we provide independent aged care counselling, private advocacy, dementia support, and family guidance during some of life’s most difficult transitions.
We understand that dementia is complex. No two people experience dementia the same way. Symptoms can vary greatly, and every person deserves care, dignity, compassion, and understanding. We become the support during the cognitive transition — walking beside individuals and families when uncertainty feels overwhelming.
We provide support for people living with dementia and companionship services for those experiencing social isolation, cognitive decline, or needing reassurance and meaningful engagement throughout their journey.
Our services include private aged care advocacy, dementia counselling, family support, communication and mediation between families and providers, Medical and Healthcare Advocacy, SACAT Administrative and Guardianship applications, SACAT hearing attendance and communication, hospital advocacy, Emergency Department advocacy, Geriatric Team conferences, and client representation.
We work collaboratively with families, aged care providers, hospitals, Public Trustee, Public Advocate, and healthcare teams to help navigate aged care systems with empathy, compassion, respect, and professionalism.
We understand the emotional challenges families face when someone they love begins experiencing memory loss, behavioural changes, confusion, or increasing care needs. No family should feel they have to navigate this journey alone.
We advocate for individuals who may be isolated, vulnerable, living without family supports, or at risk of harm to themselves due to cognitive decline or complex health circumstances.
Our Dementia Perioperative Advocacy service provides specialised support during hospital admissions and surgical periods, recognising that people living with dementia often need additional advocacy, communication support, and reassurance throughout medical treatment.
We also support families through difficult decisions involving permanent care transitions, healthcare planning, guardianship processes, aged care communication challenges, and navigating complex health and aged care systems.
At Aged Care Counselling and Advocacy SA, we believe every older person deserves dignity, compassion, respect, and a voice.
We work collaboratively. We advocate respectfully. We stand beside people when they need support most.
