That warm soak feels like it's working. And in the moment, it is.

But relief isn't the same as recovery. Epsom salts ease the sensation — they don't touch the reason it keeps coming back.

If the pain returns every time you stop, it's worth finding out why.

We see this a lot. And it's very treatable.

Still hurting with every step?

Heel pain isn’t something you should have to push through day after day. Whether it’s that sharp pain first thing in the morning or an ache that builds through the day, it can start to impact walking, exercise, and daily routine.

Heel pain can have a range of contributing factors, and management often depends on identifying what’s driving your symptoms.

In clinic, this may include load management strategies, footwear advice, hands-on treatment, shockwave therapy, and individualised exercise programs based on your assessment.

If this has been ongoing, an assessment can help guide the most appropriate next steps for you.

Not all sandals are doing your feet any favours.

Some sandals offer minimal support or stability, which can increase strain through the arch, heel, ankles, or forefoot — particularly during long days on your feet, travel, or warmer weather when they become everyday footwear.

The right sandal for one person may not necessarily suit another. Foot structure, activity levels, previous injuries, and walking patterns all play a role in what feels comfortable and sustainable for your feet. Features such as arch support, cushioning, and overall stability can influence how your feet respond during the day.

If your feet have started feeling sore, tired, or more achy since switching into sandals, it may be worth having your footwear and foot mechanics reviewed.

Some runners say switching to zero drop shoes completely changed how their feet feel… 👟

It’s a common change for people looking to improve comfort, running form, or reduce ongoing niggles. But when the transition happens too quickly, some people notice new tightness or discomfort through the lower legs and feet.

Zero drop footwear isn’t inherently “good” or “bad” — it simply changes how load is distributed through your calves, Achilles tendon, plantar fascia and forefoot. Whether it works well often depends on your current conditioning, training volume, and injury history.

This is something we commonly see in clinic when footwear changes outpace the body’s adaptation. If you’ve recently switched shoes and started noticing heel pain, calf tightness or foot fatigue, it may be worth having things assessed early.

When a young footy player starts complaining of pain on the outside of the foot… it’s not always just a minor knock 🏉

In this video, William shares a recent case involving Iselin Disease—one cause of foot pain in growing kids that can often be overlooked. It’s commonly seen in active children, especially during periods of growth.

Recognising the signs early can help guide appropriate care and support your child in staying active and comfortable on the field.

Stretching or strengthening for heel pain… which actually matters more? 👣

They each play a different role. Stretching may help ease discomfort in the short term, while strengthening focuses on improving how your foot and lower limb manage load over time.

For many people, a balanced approach works best—guided by your symptoms, activity level, and stage of irritation. A personalised assessment can help determine what’s most appropriate for you.

Persistent heel pain that just doesn’t add up? 👣

In this case, we look at a less common cause of heel pain—a stress fracture of the heel bone. While not something seen every day, it highlights why ongoing or unusual symptoms shouldn’t be overlooked.

Understanding what’s contributing to your pain is key, as different causes require different management approaches. A thorough assessment can help clarify what’s going on and guide the next steps.

On your feet all day… and your heels are paying for it by the end of your shift? 👣

Work that involves long hours standing, walking, or repeating the same movements can gradually place extra strain through your feet. Over time, this can show up as lingering heel discomfort that doesn’t fully settle between shifts.

Understanding how your daily workload is affecting your feet can help guide simple changes to reduce pressure and support more comfortable movement at work. If this sounds familiar, an assessment can help clarify what may be contributing.
