💜🌈 Wear It Purple Day 2026 🌈💜

Today, St Agnes Surgery is proud to participate in and acknowledge Wear It Purple Day.

Illnesses like influenza and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) can be dangerous, especially for vulnerable people.

Vaccination remains one of the best ways to protect yourself and those around you.

You can also reduce the risk of getting sick or passing infections on to others by:
• staying home if you're sick
• washing your hands regularly
• wiping down frequently touched surfaces
• covering coughs and sneezes with a tissue or elbow.

Dr Imasha had a busy week in July attending the Australasian Association for Academic Primary Care Conference (AAAPC) and the Australasian ADHD Professionals Association Conference (AADPA).
As part of her job with Adelaide University, Dr Imasha is involved in medical education and undertaking general practice research.

The Australian Government is launching AusAlert, a new national warning system that can send emergency messages to compatible mobile devices in times of disaster.

AusAlert will be ready to use in October 2026, but before it launches, the system will be tested across Australia.

At 1:30pm ACST on Monday 27 July, your devices such as mobile phones, tablets and smart watches may receive a test alert. The notification will vibrate and include a loud siren-like sound that lasts about 10 seconds.

If this could disrupt you or cause you or a loved one to feel unsafe, please turn off your mobile devices or switch them to aeroplane mode before the scheduled test time in your location, and leave them off for at least one hour.

As this is just a test, you don’t need to do anything, but in an actual disaster you should follow the alert instructions to keep yourself and others safe.
