When we were there last year, in 2025, we were waiting at this very same border, sitting beside the Trishuli River while waiting for immigration clearance at the Nepal–China border.

It is heartbreaking to see that this entire area has now been washed away, with the tragic loss of around 1,500 lives.

We were sitting in this very place, completely unaware of the tragedy that would later unfold. It is difficult to comprehend that a place where we once waited, travelled through, and created beautiful memories has now been devastated.

My heart goes out to everyone affected by this tragedy. My deepest condolences to all those who have lost their lives and to their families. May they find strength and peace during this incredibly difficult time. 🙏🕉️
