There’s nothing better than hearing passionate people share the impact of the work we do every day.

Recently, our Team Leader Employment Services, Karina, spoke with Peter Greco from Vision Australia Radio about the work of See Differently Employment Services and the importance of supporting people living with low vision or blindness to find and stay in meaningful employment.

Advocacy, awareness and storytelling are such an important part of helping more people understand the barriers people can face in the workplace — and the difference the right support can make.

Missed it live? You can listen back to Karina’s interview from around 16 minutes into the program click here >>

Thank you, Karina, for sharing your passion and helping us continue important conversations about inclusive employment and creating opportunities for people to see what’s possible, their way.

Yesterday, the Triple M breakfast team joined us at our Gilles Plains to learn more about See Differently and the work we do to support people living with low or no vision and Veterans living with PTSD.

Roo and Ditts also took on a blind guided walk with Topaz, one of our dogs in training, giving them a small insight into what it’s like to navigate with a guide dog by your side.

A big thank you to Roo, Ditts & Loz and the Triple M team for coming along, getting involved and helping us share what’s possible when we see differently.

Nine New Partnerships | Countless New Possibilities.

Last Friday we celebrated our 2026 Guide Dog Graduation at the Adelaide Festival Centre, a fitting way to close out International Assistance Dog Week.

Nine incredible clients officially began their journey with their new See Differently Guide Dogs, while we also paid tribute to 11 retiring partnerships who've given years of loyal service.

This year's IADW theme, Better Together, couldn't be more fitting. None of this happens without our puppy raisers, trainers, donors, volunteers and the wider community who make every graduation day possible.

Congratulations to all our new graduate teams, we can't wait to see where this next chapter takes you.

Program Spotlight | See Differently Guide Dog Program

Tomorrow, we'll celebrate a milestone that represents years of dedication, teamwork and trust.

Our Guide Dog Graduation marks the beginning of new partnerships between people who are blind or have low vision and the Guide Dogs who will support them to navigate life with greater confidence and independence.

Throughout International Assistance Dog Week, we've celebrated this year's theme, Better Together. It's a reminder that every Guide Dog partnership is about so much more than one person and one dog.

Behind every Guide Dog team is a community.

Puppy Educators who open their homes.
Volunteers who give their time.
Instructors who guide every step of the journey.
Donors and supporters who make the program possible.

Together, they help transform lives.

Tomorrow, we'll proudly celebrate our newest Guide Dog partnerships and everyone who has played a part in helping them reach this incredible milestone.

Could you be part of the next success story?

If you've ever thought about volunteering, now is the perfect time to get involved. Whether it's becoming a Puppy Educator or supporting our programs in another way, you'll be helping create future Guide Dog partnerships and changing lives.

Guide Dog Etiquette | A quick guide for anyone sharing a space with a working dog

Do >>
1. Speak to the handler, not the dog. A friendly hello to the person is always welcome.
2. Give the team space to move, a guide dog is working, even when it looks relaxed.
3. Let the handler lead. If they need help, they'll ask.
4. Keep pathways and doorways clear where you can.

Don't >>
1. Pat, feed, or call out to the dog. It's a natural instinct, but it can break the dog's concentration at exactly the wrong moment.
2. Grab the harness or lead.
3. Let your own dog approach off-lead.
4. Ask personal questions about someone's disability. If you're unsure whether a dog is working, it's fine to simply ask the handler.

A guide dog isn't just a pet out and about, it's a working partner, trained to keep its handler safe and independent. A little awareness from all of us goes a long way.

Better Together.

Every assistance dog starts with a volunteer.

Our puppy raisers open their homes, their routines and their hearts to a dog they know they'll eventually have to say goodbye to — because they know what that dog will go on to do for someone else. That's not a small thing. That's life-changing, for two lives at once.

Volunteers are the backbone of everything we do. If you've ever thought about getting involved — as a puppy raiser, a fundraiser, or in any other way, this is your sign.
