The main facility at 120 Angas Street, Adelaide, provides assessment an

d treatment options for most injuries including inpatient care (if required) all at the one location. This includes services such as x-ray, MRI and ultrasound, as well as blood tests and other assessments. Don’t run all over town to get the tests you need, we have it all here at the Angas Street site. Opening Hours:
Monday – Friday: 8am – 6pm
Saturday: 10am – 3pm
Sunday: Closed for summer months

NEXT GEN. Wakefield Sports + Exercise Medicine Clinic is located on the first floor of the Next Generation gym, War Memorial Drive, North Adelaide. Our Next Generation facility provides physiotherapy, GLA:D® program, rehabilitation, aquatic physiotherapy, podiatry, exercise rehabilitation, sports massage, acupuncture, knee class and much more. Our Physio Lucy Bunge will be in the First Aid Room throughout the afternoon, working alongside the Sports Trainers to support players across another busy round of AMND netball.

If your injury needs further investigation, our Walk-In Weekend Sports Injury Clinic is open all weekend with Sports Doctors available for assessment.

🏉 AFL Talent Pathways

On 13 July, Dr Di Howski and Dr Andrew MacDonald travelled to Western Australia to provide medical support for the South Australian U18 Female and Male AFL Talent Pathways teams at the National Championships. 🌟

The tournament brought together some of Australia’s most promising young footballers, including players who may feature in future AFL and AFLW drafts.

Di and Andrew supported the athletes throughout the competition, helping manage injuries, monitor player health and keep the teams ready to perform on the national stage. 🩺💪

It’s fantastic to see our doctors contributing to the development of emerging South Australian talent and supporting the next generation of Australian football. 👏

🎤 Inspiring the next generation of doctors

We're proud to share that our Sports Doctor, Dr Nick Tarca, recently spoke at the Australian Medical Students' Association (AMSA) National Convention in Adelaide as part of an RACGP panel discussion.

Speaking to more than 800 medical students from across Australia, Nick joined fellow GPs to share insights into the many rewarding career pathways available in general practice. Drawing on his experience as a GP, practice owner and AFLW Head Doctor for Port Adelaide Football Club, he highlighted the unique opportunities that exist within sports and exercise medicine.

At Wakefield Sports + Exercise Medicine Clinic, we're passionate about supporting education, mentoring future healthcare professionals, and contributing to the ongoing growth of our profession.

⚽️ 2026 FIFA World Cup

We were incredibly proud to see Dr James Ilic represent Australia on the international stage as a FIFA Match Doctor at the 2026 FIFA World Cup. 🌟

Working as part of the on-field emergency medical team in Toronto, James helped manage serious injuries, support team doctors and protect player health at the highest level of world football. 🩺🏆

James’ experience across local, national and international football has taken him to some of the sport’s biggest stages, while keeping player health and wellbeing at the centre of his work.
