BOWEL CANCER AWARENESS MONTH
Bowel cancer is preventable and treatable

Bowel cancer claims the lives of 103 Australians every week (5,372 people a year) – but it’s one of the most treatable types of cancer when detected early.

While the risk of bowel cancer increases significantly with age, the disease doesn’t discriminate, affecting people of all ages.

286 Australians will be diagnosed with bowel cancer this week (14,904 people a year).

Southcare Medical Services will be closed for The Kings Birthday, on Monday 08/06/26.
The Christies Beach surgery will close on Friday 05/06/26 at 5pm and will reopen on Tuesday 09/06/26.
The Sheidow Park surgery will close on Saturday 06/06/26 at 1.30pm and will reopen on Tuesday 09/06/26

A 20-minute Heart Health Check with your GP will help you understand your risk of a heart attack or stroke in the next 5 years.

Your GP and nurse at Southcare Medical Services can support you to make positive changes to lower this risk.

Do you know what your risk of having a heart attack or stroke is?
Having a regular Heart Health Check with your GP will help you better understand your risk of a heart attack or stroke. Most importantly, your GP and nurse can support you to lower this risk. A Heart Health Check is a 20-minute check-up with your GP to assess your risk of having a heart attack or stroke.

Hourly Rate: approx $31 – $35 per hour

Southcare Medical Services has an exciting opportunity for a Medical Receptionist to join our friendly and professional team! We are a busy GP & Allied Health practice with clinics in Sheidow Park and Christies Beach, and we are looking for a dedicated and adaptable individual to support our front desk operations.

About the Role:

-Casual position with approximately 25–30 hours per week
-Potential for permanent part-time in the future
-Shifts between 8:00 am – 9:00 pm (Monday–Friday) and 8:00 am – 5:00 pm (Saturday)
-Must be available to work at both locations and cover holidays & sick leave

Key Responsibilities:

-Greet and assist patients with a professional and friendly manner
-Manage appointments, patient enquiries, and medical records
-Use Best Practice software (or similar medical practice software)
-Provide administrative support to our healthcare team

About You:

-Previous medical administration experience (GP or specialist rooms preferred)
-Knowledge of Best Practice software (or similar)
-Excellent communication & multitasking skills
-Adaptable, positive, and team-oriented
