If you've ever stood in the kitchen wondering whether you should eat, sleep, shower, drink water, answer emails or simply stare into the distance for 20 minutes... welcome! 👋

When we're burnt out, even the most basic decisions can feel surprisingly difficult. Sometimes that's because we've been ignoring our own needs for so long that everything suddenly feels urgent at once.

Sometimes burnout doesn't look like a dramatic collapse. Sometimes it looks like feeling so depleted that every need feels equally important, and you have no idea where to start.

Can we normalise admitting that we're not actually doing it all? 😅

Behind every person who looks like they've got everything under control is probably a to-do list, three unanswered emails and a washing basket that's been "waiting until tomorrow" for a week.

You don't have to be superhuman to be doing a good job.

If your current self-care plan is:

☕ Coffee.
🤞 Hope for the best.
😴 Promise yourself you'll rest next week.
..it might be time for an upgrade.

Self-care is often the first thing to disappear when life gets busy, even though it's often when we need it most.
The has created a fantastic free Self-Care Plan that helps you identify what supports your wellbeing, what tends to drain your energy, and which coping strategies work best for you. It encourages you to think about self-care across all areas of life, including your physical, emotional, social, psychological and professional wellbeing.

Privacy. Remember her? Yeah, we miss her too.

One of the biggest challenges of parenting is that your time, energy and attention are in constant demand. While that's part of raising little humans, it's also why making space for yourself matters.

You don't stop being a person when you become a parent. You still need moments to recharge, breathe, think, and occasionally use the bathroom without an audience.👀

Remember when "treating yourself" meant a spontaneous shopping trip? Now it means wandering around Kmart by yourself with an iced coffee and absolutely nobody asking you for snacks.

The little things that help you feel like you again matter. Whether it's a hobby, a walk, a coffee with a friend or twenty minutes doing something you genuinely enjoy, making space for yourself isn't selfish. It's part of looking after your wellbeing. ❤️

Remember when you had hobbies? Or the ability to drink a hot coffee before it became room temperature? Or a thought that wasn't immediately interrupted by someone yelling "Muuuuuum"? 🤦‍♀️

Parenting asks a lot of us, but somewhere between school lunches, endless washing and being everyone's personal Google search engine, it's important to remember that you're a person too.

Ever noticed how overthinking often starts with one tiny thought? Like, "What if they took my comment the wrong way?"

Five minutes later you're mentally replaying the conversation, drafting apology speeches, imagining worst-case scenarios and somehow planning your move to a remote island. 😅

That's the tricky thing about anxiety and overthinking. What starts as a simple thought can quickly sweep us away before we even realise what's happening.

You don't have to believe every thought your brain throws at you. Sometimes the most helpful thing we can do is notice the thought, thank our brain for trying to help, and let it pass without climbing aboard for the ride.

Congratulations!

You stayed calm.
You kept it professional.
You didn't say what you were actually thinking.

Now your brain would like to replay the entire interaction every 20 minutes for the next week. 😅

If that sounds familiar, you're not alone. Overthinking is more common than you might think, especially when we're stressed or anxious.
