My 10 year old daughter making Chicken Pesto Pasta which included making her own basil pesto from scratch. 💚

Ava requested that a creamy pesto pasta dish made it onto the menu this week.

After a quick search of the recipe platform Cookidoo I found a recipe I had on my list to try for some time but hadn’t done so yet.

She added baby spinach to the basil as supermarket was all out of it so I added a few drops of dōTERRA basil essential oil (food grade).

We used chicken breast instead of thigh so I reduced the cooking time and we used gluten free pasta.

We hope you enjoy watching Ava make dinner, notice her eating the rest of the extra sharp parmesan cheese block and check out her dance moves 😜

Sorry if your not eating like this tonight 😍

💚 Family Chicken Galette 💚

I’ve made this 4 times in the last 6 months and it never disappoints, even better I didn’t have to make a trip to the supermarket for ingredients 🙌🏻

I made the beautifully flaky pastry around 3pm then left it in the fridge as I went to pickup my daughter. Once home, I started on the bacon/onion balsamic reduction layer, completing other (never ending) household chores between the stages.

Then steamed the chicken tenderloins, sweet potato and mushrooms. Made the sauce, rolled out the pastry (wasn’t my best work 😅 but it turned out perfect anyway 👌🏻 it’s quiet forgiving, my butter wasn’t frozen, my water wasn’t quiet chilled so was stickier than usual but still worked 🙌🏻).

Oven 30 mins just in time for hubby to walk thru the door and say “what’s for dinner?!” 🍽
