⚡ 2026 Update ⚡
After more than three years of stakeholder discussions, research, development & iteration, our Ardant app has been approved by Apple & is now available on the App Store. This is an important milestone - it certainly has not been a straightforward journey...
As a non-technical founder building a health technology platform, - finding the right technical development skills/team members has been far more challenging than I anticipated. It has slowed progress at times, testing both my confidence & motivation.
I keep being reminded that this is all part of building a startup. There have been periods of enormous energy & momentum, - others when progress felt much, much harder. I don’t want to share only the polished milestones & leave out what it's taken (including the messiness) to reach them. 😅😖
I’m now confident with who we are working with on the tech side & heartened by the progress made over the past few months. We have moved from an ambitious idea, validated that customers want to buy what we offer, to a working product that is ready to enter its next phase.
We will begin by migrating the occupational therapists who already work with Ardant onto the app. This will allow us to test, learn, & further refine the user experience with our existing network before progressively opening the platform to other experienced OTs across Australia.
Our broader vision is to create the infrastructure that makes independent practice easier & more rewarding for occupational therapists - supporting them to work across different funding schemes, increase their take-home income, & spending more time providing occupational therapy rather than managing administration.
For clients, families, referrers, & care organisations, the longer-term goal is equally important: simpler access to highly skilled occupational therapists across Australia, with better matching, less friction, & shorter delays in finding the right clinician.
For potential partners & investors, this milestone represents more than an App Store approval. It demonstrates our continued commitment to solving a significant workforce & access problem in allied health, & our ability to keep building through the difficult stages.
A good friend once told me to “just keep turning up.”
So I did.
And now Ardant is entering its next chapter.
