A Breath of Fresh Air

A Breath of Fresh Air A Breath of Fresh Air (BOFA) Facilitated Group Breathwork session in Adelaide, Monthly! Why? Do you think of the next breath that you will take?

A Breath of Fresh Air (BOFA) initially began about 15 years ago for me when I wanted to create a group of like minded Breathworkers to get together monthly and facilitate public group breath sessions. Many reasons – firstly, I really embrace the concept of a “Spiritual Community” and I wanted to share this incredible breathing process with my conscious community. The breath is LIFE and the way a p

erson breathes reflects and represents the way they live their life! I would say most people do not. Most people take this most precious gift for granted. As long as you breathe, you LIVE! So, eventually after many years of facilitating group breathwork sessions all over the world, I managed to get the support of 6 other professional breathworkers who have committed whole heartedly to supporting this community service. Eventually we took on board an assistant to organise our BOFA sessions and we now have been facilitating monthly group sessions since late 2004. We, as a group meet regularly and share breathwork ideas, research and studies. We support each other and constantly have visioning meetings which directs BOFA into the future. We welcome other Breathworkers to join us and support BOFA. So, we really hope to see you at our next BOFA group session! In love, truth and simplicity

Every journey is unique, but the goal is the same: creating space for lasting change from the inside out.

It's an honor to walk alongside those who are ready to reconnect with themselves through the power of breath. Thank you for your trust and for sharing your experience.

If you're curious about what breathwork can unlock for you, I'd love to welcome you into that journey and if you've ever tried breathwork, what was the biggest shift you noticed—physically, emotionally, or mentally? I'd love to hear your experience below. 👇

Stress doesn't just live in your mind. It lives in your body.

The tight chest. The clenched jaw. The shallow breath you don't even notice you're taking. These aren't just signs of stress they are stress, stored physically in the body and waiting to be released.

The problem with trying to think your way out of it is that the mind can calm down while the body is still braced for impact. That's why positive thinking doesn't always work. The body needs its own way through.

The breath is the only tool that speaks both languages mind and body — simultaneously. When you breathe consciously and slowly, you send a direct signal to the nervous system: you are safe. And the body begins to let go.

Swipe through and follow the guided moment, 4 in, 2 hold, 6 out, three times. Notice what shifts in your shoulders, your chest, your jaw.

That's not just relaxation. That's your body releasing stored stress through the breath.

Save this for your next stressful moment. 🤍

The world has never been more informed. And never more disconnected from itself.

Stress, anxiety, burnout, loneliness these aren't personal failures. They're the predictable result of a culture that rewards output, speed and performance, and gives almost no space to the inner life.

We have more apps, more information, more access to help than any generation before us. And yet the body is still carrying what the pace of modern life doesn't allow it to release.

This is why breathwork matters now more than it ever has.

Not as a trend. Not as a wellness shortcut. But as a return to something the body already knows the capacity to release, restore, and come back to itself. To feel again. To be present again. To stop outsourcing the experience of being alive.

In 35 years of taking this work to more than 20 countries, I have never seen the need for it be greater than it is right now.

And I've never been more certain that one person healing changes everything around them. How they parent. How they lead. How they show up for the people they love.

The ripple from one breathwork session travels further than most people realise.

Share this if you believe the world needs more healing. 🌍

We spend so much of our lives trying to change what's happening around us.

But real transformation often begins with changing how we respond to what's happening within us.

Your breath is one of the few things that connects your conscious awareness with your body's automatic responses. When you learn to work with it intentionally, you create space for clarity, resilience, and presence even in life's most challenging moments.

The next time you feel overwhelmed, don't rush to find the answer.

Pause.

Take one slow, intentional breath.

Notice what shifts.

💭 Have you ever experienced a moment where simply slowing your breath changed the way you felt or responded?

There is something remarkable about the breath.

It's one of the few processes in the body that happens automatically, yet can also be guided with intention. That makes it a powerful connection between the mind and body.

When we pause and breathe deeply, we create space—not because our circumstances instantly change, but because our perspective can.

Sometimes the most meaningful reset doesn't require a major life change. It begins with a single conscious breath.

Take a moment today.

Inhale slowly.

Exhale completely.

Then notice what changes.

💭 What's one moment this week when taking a deep breath helped you?

Five years of working alongside someone tells you a lot about who they really are. 🙏

Not just what they know. How they show up. How they treat people. Whether their integrity inside a session matches their integrity outside of it.

This means a great deal not because of the praise, but because of who it comes from. A colleague within the international breathwork community who has seen the work up close, in leadership, in training rooms, and in the field.

The standard I hold myself to isn't just about technique. It's about how I show up for the people I work with - clients, students, and colleagues alike.

That's the kind of breathwork practitioner I want to be. And the kind I look for when I train others through LEI.

There was a retreat that changed how I teach. I don't talk about this often.

I had been facilitating for years at that point. I knew the technique deeply. I thought I knew how to hold space.

But at this particular retreat, one participant went somewhere I wasn't fully prepared for. Not dangerous. Just deeper than I'd allowed a room to go before.

And I realised, sitting with that, that I was the ceiling.

My own unresolved material — the stuff I hadn't fully gone back to do my own work on — was quietly limiting how deep my clients could go. Not consciously. Not through anything I did wrong. Just through what I hadn't yet cleared in myself.

The room can only go as deep as the facilitator has gone themselves.

After that retreat I went back into sessions. Did more of my own work. Not because something was broken. Because the most important thing I can do for the people I work with is keep clearing myself first.

35 years in. Still going to sessions. Still learning. Still doing the work.

Drop a ❤️ if you appreciate teachers who keep learning too. 🙏

After teaching thousands of people across more than 20 countries, I keep seeing the same thing stop people from healing.

It's not the wrong approach. It's not lack of effort. It's not not wanting it enough.
It's resistance to feeling.

Not resistance to healing most people genuinely want that. But healing requires feeling what we've spent years, sometimes decades, learning not to feel. The grief we pushed down. The fear we managed around. The pain we got very good at not touching.

And that gap between wanting to heal and being willing to actually feel is where most people get quietly, invisibly stuck.

The breath doesn't force anything open. What it does is create the conditions where the body finally feels safe enough to stop protecting itself. And in that safety, what's been waiting can move.

That's the work. It's simple. It's not easy. But it's available to everyone.

Most people are trying to think their way out of problems that only the body can solve.

And I get it. Thinking feels productive. Understanding feels like progress. Knowing where something came from feels like half the battle.

But here's what 30 years of this work has taught me:

The body doesn't release what the mind merely understands.

You can spend years in therapy gaining insight, reading every book, understanding every pattern and still feel it sitting in your chest, your shoulders, your gut.

Because the body speaks a different language. It doesn't respond to analysis. It responds to feeling. To breath. To being finally allowed to move what it's been holding.

The people I've seen shift the most are not the ones who understand the most. They're the ones who are finally willing to feel.

Comment YES if this hits home. 🙏
