edicine and mental health. This affords her a well balanced understanding of both western medicine and holistic, health management paradigms. Conscious, connected breathing helps us to deal with both physical and emotional issues. The breath oxygenates the body and increases vital energy flow. When we exhale, we dispose of both bodily toxins as well as toxic emotions. While this process energises the body it also relaxes the mind. Suppressed emotions are eliminated from the body at a cellular level. Emotions such as anger, fear, grief, shame and guilt have detrimental effects on our general health and happiness. Once released with the breath you are free to experience profound states of bliss, clarity and understanding. After a Breathwork session a person often feels calm, clear and liberated, significantly changing the way they feel about themselves or a situation. The wisdom of my 13 yr old client today is worth sharing.. "I don't feel offended when a kid is mean to me if they're going through a hard time". Impressive compassion and emotional maturity from a beautiful young soul.
It does make it more difficult to be offended when you keep in mind that most poor behaviour originates from fear and anxiety. When you're able to respond rather than react, you get to choose what happens next.
