🎉 Adelaide Veterans’ and Families’ Wellbeing Hub Celebrates 1 Year! 🎉
What an incredible day!
Our 1st Birthday Celebration was a wonderful reflection of the strong, connected community that has grown around the Adelaide Veterans’ and Families’ Wellbeing Hub over the past year.
It was fantastic to see veterans, families, community members, organisations and supporters come together to celebrate this important milestone. The day was filled with connection, laughter, entertainment and opportunities to learn more about the services and support available within our community.
A big thank you to Cliffy "Tangku Munaitya" Wilson from Kuma Kaaru for delivering a beautiful Welcome to Country at our 1st Birthday Celebration. We are grateful for the opportunity to acknowledge the Traditional Owners and for Cliffy sharing his culture, knowledge and warm welcome with our community.
A huge thank you to Operation Unity for keeping everyone well fed with an amazing BBQ, and to Pamela from Human Quotient for providing a creative art table where families and children could get involved and enjoy a fun hands-on activity together. A big thank you to the Australian Army Band for sharing their amazing music. Your performance helped create a fantastic atmosphere and made the day even more special.
Thank you to Nichola Ewers from Witchlight Photography for beautifully capturing the day, our talented face painter for bringing smiles to so many faces, and to Military Bank, Open Arms, Defence Bank and their team for their support and participation throughout the event. Thank you to We Like To Party for the incredible balloon decorations that helped bring our 1st Birthday Celebration to life. Your stunning balloon display added so much colour and fun to the day.
A special thank you to Rayan for sharing his fantastic Star Wars display, which was a huge hit with guests of all ages, and to Allen and The Combis for helping create a fun and welcoming atmosphere.
We are also grateful to the National Military Vehicle Museum for their impressive vehicle displays and to Veterans SA for generously donating The Family artwork, which was proudly displayed during the celebration.
It was an honour to welcome Matt Burnell MP and Glenn Docherty, Mayor of the City of Playford, who joined us to celebrate this special milestone. Thank you for your ongoing support of our veteran and family community.
A heartfelt thank you goes to our amazing clients and volunteers who helped with setup, pack down, welcoming guests and assisting throughout the day. Your support, enthusiasm and generosity made a real difference.
We would also like to thank all the individuals, businesses and organisations who donated prizes for our raffle. Your generosity helped make it a huge success and added to the excitement of the day.
Most importantly, thank you to everyone who attended and celebrated with us. This event showcased the strength of our veteran and family community and highlighted the importance of connection, support and belonging.
We are incredibly proud of everything that has been achieved during our first year and look forward to continuing to grow, support and connect with our community for many years to come. 💙
