💛 WALK WITH US - OUT OF THE SHADOWS 2026 💛

This September, our team is once again walking for something incredibly important.

On World Su***de Prevention Day, we'll be taking part in Lifeline's Out of the Shadows Walk - remembering those we've lost, standing beside those who have been impacted by su***de, and reminding anyone who may be struggling that they don't have to face it alone.

⏰ 10:00 am
📍 Starting at Cannonvale Beach
👟 Up to 9 km – but walk as little or as much as you like!

The symbolic 9 km represents the nine Australians lost to su***de each day. But this isn't about distance.

Walk 9 km. Walk 1 km. Walk a few hundred metres. Just come and stand beside us. Your presence matters. 💛

We'd love to see our participants, families, friends, fellow providers, support coordinators, support workers and wider community come together and walk alongside us.

We've also set ourselves a fundraising goal of $580, which could help fund almost 15 potentially life saving Lifeline crisis support connections.

You truly embody everything that Tailored Lifestyle Connections stands for - compassion, integrity, kindness, and putting people first. Your heart for this role shines through in everything you do, and we are so incredibly lucky to have you as part of the TLC family.

Working in the NDIS isn't just a job to us - it's something we genuinely care about.

Every single day, our team gives 100%. We advocate, we problem solve, we research, we follow up, we fight for better outcomes, and we do everything we can to support our participants. We celebrate your wins, we share in your frustrations, and we carry the weight of some incredibly difficult situations alongside you.

We also understand that the NDIS can be overwhelming. Delays, funding decisions, changing legislation, and complex processes can leave people feeling angry, exhausted, scared and frustrated. We see that every day, and we truly understand where those emotions come from.

What many people don't see is that we don't make the rules. We don't make NDIA decisions. We don't always have the answers immediately, because sometimes those answers simply don't exist yet, or we need time to investigate, seek clarification, or wait on responses from others.

What we can promise is this: if there is a way to help, we will do everything within our power to find it. We will always show up, work hard, be honest, and treat every person with dignity and respect.

What we won't accept is abuse.

Being yelled at, sworn at, threatened, belittled or spoken down to is never okay. Our team deserves to come to work knowing they will be treated with the same respect and kindness that they extend to others every single day.

We are human too. We have families, we have feelings, and we carry the emotional load of this work because we genuinely care. We understand your frustration with the system, and we'll stand beside you through it - but we won't tolerate our staff becoming the target of that frustration.

Kindness costs nothing. Respect goes both ways. Together, we can achieve so much more when we work with each other, not against each other. ❤️

💖 Pretty in Pink! 💖

We had the absolute pleasure of welcoming the lovely Miss S into the TLC office today, and she certainly brightened everyone's day! Looking stylish, confident and absolutely beautiful in pink, she arrived with a smile that was just as bright as her outfit.

It's always so special when our participants pop in for a visit. We love catching up, sharing a chat and celebrating the wonderful people who make our TLC community so special.

📣 Office Space Wanted - Mackay 📣

We're on the lookout for a small office or consulting room to rent for our Support Coordinator for the next 3–6 months, ideally 2–3 days per week.

What an incredible day we had today at our TLC Community Golf Day! ⛳️💚

After watching the weather all week and wondering if we'd be golfing or swimming, we're thrilled that Mother Nature was on our side and gave us a beautiful day to enjoy together! ☀️😄

At TLC, community is at the heart of everything we do. While support services are important, we know that genuine connection, friendship, inclusion, and a sense of belonging are just as valuable. That's why we chose to host this Community Golf Day.

Our goal was simple: bring people together. To create an opportunity for our clients, staff, families, supporters, and members of the wider community to step away from their daily routines, have some fun, make new connections, strengthen existing ones, and simply enjoy being part of something bigger.

Today was a perfect example of what community spirit looks like. We saw clients encouraging one another, staff joining in the laughter, conversations between people who may never have otherwise met, and a genuine sense of connection throughout the day. It wasn't about who won or lost—it was about coming together, creating memories, and celebrating the amazing people who make up our community.

The food was fantastic, the company was even better, and the atmosphere was something truly special.

A huge thank you to everyone who attended and helped make the day such a success. Your willingness to get involved, have a laugh, and support one another is what made today so memorable.

We would also like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Whitsunday Green for their incredible generosity and hospitality, and to Managed Computer Solutions/Mick's Computer Services for their sponsorship and support. Without community minded businesses like these, opportunities to bring people together in this way simply wouldn't be possible.

Today reminded us that when a community comes together, amazing things happen. We are so grateful to have shared this day with each and every one of you and can't wait to do it again.

Today we're celebrating two very special milestones within our team! 🎉

A huge congratulations to the incredible Barbie on her 5 year anniversary and to the wonderful Andrea on reaching 3 years with us! 💐

Both of these amazing women bring so much heart, compassion, dedication, and positivity to everything they do. Their clients absolutely adore them, and it's easy to see why – they go above and beyond every day to make a difference in the lives of others.

Not only are they exceptional at what they do, but they are also genuinely beautiful people inside and out. Their kindness, support, and commitment help make our workplace the special place that it is.

We are so incredibly lucky to have both Barbie and Andrea as part of our team and community. Thank you for everything you do and for the countless lives you've touched along the way.
