Over five decades of achievements and truth-telling have been driven by Elders, activists and communities, building a strong foundation of leadership and self-determination that continues to empower the next generation.
As Amity Health celebrates 50 years of NAIDOC alongside the communities we work with, we honour these achievements, the incredible people behind them, and the bright future they continue to shape.

Amity Health's Albany Connected Communities Project (ACCP) is coming to the Albany Leisure and Aquatic Centre!

Come along on the 4th Wednesday of every month between 10-12pm and meet Lewis, our awesome Linkworker (pictured)

ACCP helps people find local activities and support to feel more connected and stay well. It’s a great program for anyone:
🌿Who might be feeling lonely, isolated or disconnected
🌿needs support to be more physically and socially active
🌿who would like to try new activities, learn a new skill or join a community group

Lewis is here to support you to take steps towards a healthier, happier, more connected you.

The program is free and open to any resident of Albany that is over 18.

Albany Connected Communities Project (ACCP) is coming to Pioneer Health Albany on Wednesday 17th June.

Come along between 10.30-1.30pm and meet Lewis, our awesome Linkworker.

ACCP is a health and wellbeing program that compliments and supports the work of your GP and/or allied health professional.

The program helps people find local activities and support to feel more connected and stay well. It’s a great program for anyone:
• who has been advised to make lifestyle changes for their health and wellbeing
• that needs support to be more physically and/or socially active
• who might be feeling lonely, isolated or disconnected

You might be a long-term resident or new to the region or perhaps you are transitioning to a new phase in life (like parenthood, retirement, divorce, carer).

Lewis is here to support you to take those steps towards a healthier, happier, more connected you.

The program is free and open to any resident of Albany (postcode 6330) that is over 18.

The WA government is investing more than $500,000 in a pilot project to help communities in the Great Southern and Southern Wheatbelt access healthier, affordable, and locally available food.

Amity Health will partner with Aboriginal community leaders, local governments, and food retail and relief partners to establish community-led Food Action Groups in the region.

As part of the pilot, at least three major community initiatives will be delivered in Narrogin, Katanning, Kojonup, Broomehill-Tambellup, and Gnowangerup.

Amity Health chief executive Pam Bubrzycki told Peter Barr on ABC Regional Mornings the planning was underway, with the program expected to kick off in August.

“Edith Cowan University has done a lot of groundwork in the communities over the past four or five years and they’ve identified the areas of highest need, but also looked at places with existing infrastructure and community engagement that wants to support this,” she said.

“We’ll start to pull together all the community groups who had showed an interest in being involved in this initiative, we’ll start the planning phase, we’ve got some money to recruit some people with health promotion backgrounds to get the program up and running.”

Great to be in the Wheatbelt this week announcing a new Healthway grant supporting communities across the Southern Wheatbelt and Great Southern to improve access to healthy, affordable food 🥕🍎

This initiative, delivered with Amity Health and Edith Cowan University, will support locally-led Food Action Groups bringing together residents, Aboriginal leaders, government and local retailers to develop practical solutions that work for their communities.

From community gardens and cooking programs to building local skills and resilience, this is about making healthy food more accessible no matter where you live. 🤝

This morning, some of our Albany team joined the National Reconciliation Week Breakfast broadcast from Boorloo (Perth), at the Albany Entertainment Centre, along with the launch of the Great Southern Pilot RAP.

The event was a powerful reminder of the importance of listening, learning, and walking forward together.

Amity Health is proud to support Australia’s first place-based RAP alongside Reconciliation WA and local partners.

As our COO Matt Looker shared, “Today reinforced the power of truth-telling, being honest, accountable and listening deeply as we move forward together.”

We’re committed to being "All In", walking alongside our community on the journey toward reconciliation.

Be Wise, Immunise this Winter!

As we head into the colder months, getting a free flu vaccination is one of the easiest ways to keep the flu away.

At Amity Health, we're proud to support the WA Government 'Be Wise, Immunise' campaign. Our Albany team recently rolled up their sleeves with Terry White Chemmart (Chester Pass) visiting onsite.
