3× your body weight… every time you climb the stairs!? 🤯

Sounds like a lot, but it’s completely normal. Your kneecap is designed to handle these forces. When it becomes painful, it’s often a sign the joint needs to gradually rebuild its capacity, not that it’s being damaged.

Knee pain on stairs? Our physios can help.

General advice only. Individual assessment is recommended.

Think you know what it is?

There are a few clues hidden in this video, but one symptom alone is rarely enough to make a diagnosis.

A good assessment isn’t just about where it hurts. It’s about understanding when it hurts, what brings it on, how it behaves during activity, and why it started in the first place.

What’s your best guess?

👟 Does footwear really matter?

The answer is yes… but not in the way you might think.

There isn’t one “perfect” shoe for everyone. The best footwear is the one that suits your feet, your activity and your goals.

If you’re dealing with foot pain, recurrent injuries, or you’re simply unsure what shoes are right for you, our podiatrists can help assess your footwear and provide personalised advice.

The biggest gains rarely come from one perfect session.

They come from showing up, week after week, with a plan you can actually stick to.

Small, consistent efforts build strength, confidence and long-term results. That’s why we focus on creating rehab programs that fit your life, not just your injury.

Consistency beats perfection every time.

Dry needling is not magic, and it is definitely not a one-size-fits-all treatment.

So why do we use it?

1. To help settle pain: For some people, dry needling can reduce pain and sensitivity in the short term.

2. To make movement feel easier: When an area feels tight, guarded or sensitive, it may help create a short-term change that makes movement more comfortable.

3. To create a window for rehabilitation: Sometimes reducing symptoms makes it easier to exercise, build strength and return to normal activity.

4. Because some people respond well to it: Every person and every injury is different. We use dry needling when it suits the individual, their condition and their goals.

It is not needed for every injury, and it should not be the entire treatment plan.

It is simply one tool we may use alongside education, movement and progressive rehabilitation.

Hands-on or hands-off physio?

The best answer is usually both.

Hands-on treatment can help settle symptoms, improve comfort and create an opportunity to show that pain and movement can change.

It also gives us time to listen, understand what is happening and talk through the things that matter to you.

But recovery cannot rely on what happens on the treatment table alone.

Education, exercise and practical strategies help build confidence, capacity and progress that continues outside the clinic.

The balance will look different for every person.

Our job is not to force one approach.

It is to find the right mix for you.

Falls can change more than your balance.

They can affect confidence, independence and how comfortable you feel moving through everyday life. The good news is that balance, strength and confidence can all be trained with the right support.

Balance Booster is our supervised exercise class for older adults who have experienced a fall, feel unsteady, or simply want to stay ahead of changes in their balance.

If this sounds like you, or someone you know, get in touch with our team to learn more.
