LET’S TALK BREAST HEALTH…

When was the last time you really paid attention to how your breasts feel?

Not just checking for a lump — but noticing the little changes.

🌿 Tenderness
🌿 Heaviness or fullness
🌿 Swelling around the breast or underarm
🌿 Changes after surgery or radiation
🌿 Tightness through the chest
🌿 Scar sensitivity
🌿 Fluid retention
🌿 Changes in shape, skin or sensation
🌿 Or simply feeling like something is “different”

Breast wellness is about so much more than waiting until something is wrong.

At the Breast Wellness Studio, I want women to feel comfortable talking about their breasts, understanding their bodies and asking questions they may not always know who to ask.

So today, I’d love to hear from you:

What is ONE thing you wish women were taught earlier about breast health?

It might be something you learned through your own experience, something nobody ever explained properly, or something you think every woman should know.

Pop it in the comments below. 💕 or message me.
Your answer might be exactly what another woman needs to hear today.

And remember — breast awareness isn’t about fear.

It’s about knowing your normal, noticing change, and feeling confident enough to speak up.

🌸 It’s the 1st of the Month – Time for Your Breast Check! 🌸

The best person to notice a change in your breasts is you.

Take just a few minutes today to get to know what feels normal for your body. Check for any new lumps, swelling, skin changes, ni**le changes, or anything that simply doesn’t feel right.

Remember, not every breast cancer starts as a lump. Knowing your own body means you’re more likely to notice subtle changes early.

💗 Check.
💗 Feel.
💗 Know your normal.

Your health is worth a few minutes each month.

🌸 My Skincare Routine

Everyone’s skin is different, but this routine has helped me.

💜 Morning – StrataXRT
This was recommended by my radiation team to be applied twice a day. I personally chose to use it each morning. It needs to be applied at least 2 hours before treatment, and I found it created a protective silicone layer over my skin.

🤍 During the day – MooGoo Natural Fast Hydrating Lotion
As the day went on, my skin became drier and tighter. MooGoo absorbed beautifully without leaving my skin feeling greasy, so it was easy to reapply throughout the day whenever I needed extra hydration.

🌿 Chelsey Jean Facebiotics
Chelsey Jean Lymphatics
Although it’s marketed as a face product, I found it incredibly soothing on my treated breast. The cooling peppermint gave a refreshing sensation, especially when my skin felt warm, and I even found the peppermint aroma helped settle my nausea. It became one of those unexpected little comforts during treatment.

💙 Night – Aquaphor Healing Ointment
Before bed I applied a generous layer of Aquaphor. Because it’s much thicker, it helped lock in moisture overnight and was wonderfully soothing when my skin became warmer and more sensitive.

Remember your skin reaction doesn’t necessarily stop when radiation finishes. In fact, the redness, warmth and irritation can continue to develop and often peak around 1–2 weeks after your final treatment. That’s because radiation is still affecting the skin and the underlying tissues as your body begins the repair process.

Radiation doesn’t only affect the surface of the skin. It can also temporarily affect the connective tissue (fascia), tiny blood vessels and lymphatic vessels, which is why many people experience: Warmth
Redness
Tightness
Swelling
Tenderness
Reduced flexibility through the breast and chest wall

For me, continuing my skincare routine even after treatment finished has become just as important as what I did during treatment.

💗 Protecting your breast health is about the little things you do consistently.

Breast health isn’t just about finding a lump—it’s about caring for your whole body.

Simple lifestyle choices can make a real difference over time.

🌿 Know your normal with monthly breast self-checks.
🌿 Learn your family history.
🌿 Support your lymphatic system with movement and hydration.
🌿 Nourish your body with whole, colourful foods.
🌿 Reduce sugar and highly processed foods where possible.
🌿 Manage stress and prioritise quality sleep.
🌿 Stay active most days of the week.

There is no single step that guarantees prevention, but every healthy choice you make is an investment in your wellbeing.

✨ Be proactive.
✨ Stay informed.
✨ Listen to your body.
✨ Don’t ignore changes.

Your health is worth making a priority—not just today, but every day. 💕

💪 THURSDAY = UPPER BODY STRENGTH 💪

Strong doesn’t have to mean extreme.
Building upper body strength helps support posture, mobility, balance, circulation, and everyday function — from lifting groceries to supporting healthy ageing. 🌿

Today’s 5-4-3-2-1 workout focuses on:
✨ Arms
✨ Chest
✨ Shoulders
✨ Core stability

Push-ups, tricep dips, shoulder taps, and arm movements all help activate muscles while also encouraging healthy blood and lymphatic flow.

And let’s be honest… those arm circles start feeling serious after about 12 seconds 😅💚

Remember:
✔ Start where you are
✔ Modify when needed
✔ Rest when needed
✔ Progress takes consistency, not perfection

Movement is one of the greatest gifts we can give the body — especially when we combine it with good nutrition, hydration, sleep, and nervous system support.

You’re stronger than you think.

HOLISTIC BREAST WELLNESS SUPPORT

Supporting breast wellness involves caring for the whole body and creating an environment that supports healthy tissue function.

Supporting Hormonal Balance & Healthy Detox Pathways - Certain nutrients may support healthy oestrogen metabolism and detoxification pathways, including:

• Cruciferous vegetables
• Sulfur-rich foods such as onion, garlic, broccoli, and cabbage
• Adequate fibre intake
• Supportive nutrients prescribed by your healthcare practitioner where appropriate

Minerals & Nutrients - Healthy breast tissue relies on adequate nutritional support, including:

• Zinc
• Selenium
• Magnesium
• Iodine
• Vitamin D

Lymphatic Support - The lymphatic system plays an important role in fluid balance and immune support.

Helpful practices may include:

• Gentle movement
• Dry body brushing and roller massage
• Lymphatic massage
• Hydration
• Sauna or infrared therapies where suitable

Nervous System & Emotional Wellbeing- Chronic stress impacts inflammation, hormone balance, sleep, and immune health.

Supportive practices may include:

• Breathwork
• Meditation
• Journaling
• Counselling or somatic therapies
• Restorative sleep and stress reduction

Reducing Environmental Load - Limiting exposure to endocrine-disrupting chemicals may support overall wellness:

• Reduce plastics where possible
• Choose cleaner personal care products
• Support healthy air, water, and food choices

Prevention Is More Than A Scan!

Breast wellness is not built in one appointment each year.

It is supported:
🌿 Day by day
🌿 Choice by choice
🌿 Cell by cell

At The Breast Wellness Studio and The Healthy Living Naturopath, our goal is to support women through education, awareness, and proactive wellness approaches alongside appropriate medical care and screening.
