Core Communication and Social Skills:
Learning how to take perspectives and understand the viewpoints of others.
Developing skills for social interaction.
Improving the ability to express emotions.
Foundational Participation Skills:
The program supports the development of underlying skills necessary for children to actively participate in activities.

Therapy does not involve sitting at a desk learning! For young children, therapy is usually:
play-based
relationship-focused
child-led
It’s embedded into everyday routines!

Supporting a child to say more include:
Follow the 4:1 Ratio: For every one question asked, provide four comments.
Use Modeling: Making comments models new language for the child.
Support Interaction: Commenting helps support back-and-forth interactions between the adult and the child.
Practice with Activities: Use simple comments during play, such as “wow,” “big bubbles,” “pop pop pop,” or “they’re all gone” when blowing bubbles.
Wait Patiently: After making a comment, it is essential to wait.
Allow Processing Time: Waiting gives the child the necessary time to think about what they want to say and then say it.
